The good news is that it is fairly inexpensive, close to the Baltimore Metro (a mile or two down the road or easy access to public buses) and the inside of the apartments look nice. Maintenance is fairly quick to respond to emergencies and they are pretty nice guys. The hardwood floors are great. They allow pets, including dogs. And they have a pool, which during the weekday isn't too filled. Also, the cops are here a lot, either driving through responding to something or other. So you won't have any trouble finding one if you ever need one.

Now for the bad news. First, I have bugs. Cockroaches to be exact. And I am a very clean person who doesn't leave food out or go out of my way to invite the bugs in. Hopefully a call to management will take care of that problem, but how do you get rid of cockroaches when your neighbors might be inviting them in.
Second, if you want to live here, learn Spanish, Chinese and Eubonics. Not that there is anything wrong with that. But it is very hard to ask your Asian neighbors to stop yelling in the hallway at 10pm at night when you don't speak their language.
Third, if you are a single woman, don't bother with this place. Between the guys sitting on the front steps of the buildings checking you out or the random thugs who drive by when you're walking your dog and yell what they would like to do to you, this is NOT a single girl's paradise. Also, it doesn't bode well for an apartment complex when you're relaxing by the pool and a group of tattooed -------- do nothing but stare at you from across the deck. They don't swim. They aren't getting sun. They are just sitting there staring. Forth, it is noisey. You hear everything that happens in the hallway (not just neighbors yelling at each other in a foreign language). You also hear everything that happens in the apartment above you, including things as simple as walking. Fifth. Their dog policy is supposed to be only small dogs with breed limitations (No pits, etc.) However, I've seen some big pits being walked around the neighborhood by people that look like they have no business owning any dogs, let alone pit bulls. Sixth, there is an ice cream truck that makes its rounds every day playing music. While not necessairly a bad thing, it can be really annoying if it stops outside your building for any amount of time since you can't hear yourself think over the repeating song.

Honestly, I don't recommend this place unless you are totally strapped for cash and can't afford anything better.

You forgot to mention the 20 speed bumps it takes to get to your apartment or the trash that liters all over the back areas. The pit's that walk around the neighborhood scare me and my dog. I also agree with you about the noise level. My upstairs neighbor has no consideration that people live below her and she tends to be a night owl and does most of her moving around starting at midnight. Another thing I agree with is the scary men that tend to linger all throughout the complex. I never walk alone at night and don't feel too comfortable coming home late to see a bunch of guys hanging out on the front stoop. I have a lot of problems with the manager and her "talking down to me" even though I have always paid my rent on time and I was only calling for a minor maitanence problem. I have not had the bug problem but after hearing your problems I am sure its just a matter of time before they invade my home. Good Luck to you!

Oh, the trash like the discarded beer bottles and food containers that seem to accumulate when ever random men sit out front? Or do you mean the random garbage that just shows up in the grass areas in between each building? And yes, I agree with you about the men roaming around at night. I'm uncomfortable leaving my apartment at night because of them. Oh, and don't forget the random "thugs" that sit outside after sunset too. Lovely place this is. Anyone want to sublet?

Oh hell no, i've been there and done that and am so grategul that I left that place, I agree with both of you whole hardidly. I had to experience a resident urinating on my window when he was pissy drunk and he lived right next to me. There were also at least 10/12 people living in the apartment, and they used the back of the apt as a trash dumpster, and of course they were Hispanic. I also heard that the person that you mentioned as having an attitude got beaten up a couple of times because she had too much mouth.

Jodi, never been beat up and weren't you evicted I saw you sitting in the hall with all your stuff on the street how does that look, hispanic people are hard working spiritual people something you would know nothing about

I guess Richmar only rents to the trashy ---------, because the ones that I've seen here are dirty, destructive, and rude. I've watched them urinate on doors, throw beer bottles at cars and walls and just dump trash in hallways. That doesn't even inclued them destroying the washers and dryers, the rude looks they give you, or the fact that there are usually 10 of them in a small apartment.

You all sound so RACIST!!!! You should be ashamed of yourselves!!! You probably were evicted and if you weren't it will come back to you in time!

I agree with the poster dated 01/27/2009. Leave all of the race issues out of this review. If you lived at Richmar and experienced a poor living environment, then state the facts surrounding your experience. Stop with all the asian, hispanic, eubonics lingo-speaking etc etc ranting. For those like me who are VERY serious about this review board, we look to it to better gauge whether or not this place is truly where we would like to live. Again, please post the relevant items, complaints about your own personal preferences about "Who" you wish were your neighbors.....just move out of the complex and maybe to Aspen CO if diversity isn't something you're ready for. If the manager was unprofessional or staff that was less than perfect, there is an escalation path to follow and make your voices heard. Have a good day, everyone!!

AMEN to that

I agree with the poster dated 1/27/09, Hispanic people are very hard workers and you guys shouldn't measure your confort with the apartment complex based on the race of your neighbors, coz in that case I should say that I don't like to live around ------- americans, (there are some things that I don't like about them), however since I'm an open mind profesional HISPANIC person, I don't rate the comunity based on those minor diferences or preferences.
