While living at Riverstone I went into the hallway and was bowled over by the smell of gas. I called the office and nobody picked up, left a message and did not get a call back. I called the police department because I did not know what else to do. The rudest member of the office staff happened to be showing an apartment to a potential renter when they arrived and came up to me and had the audacity to ask why I would call the fire/police department without calling them first - before checking to make sure that everything was okay. I told her that I had and she said "well, that's weird, I didn't hear the phone ring" - basically calling me a liar and making me tell her multiple times that I had indeed called as if I didn't have better things to do then make up stories about gas leaks on a Saturday afternoon and had called the fire department for kicks. They did find that there was indeed a gas leak - after the maintence guy opened the hall doors to air out the hallway and left - and had maintenance come back to "fix" it. Hours later it reaked of gas again. If you want to deal with this maintenance staff and their bandaid solutions and this completely unprofessional woman - a woman who wears pink sweatpants to work in an office setting (a separate occasion), is completely rude to innocent people and has made it glaringly obvious that she is staring at the clock and does not want to be held one minute after closing anytime you catch her in the office -then come to Riverstone. When signing my lease on a seperate occasion I tried to make small talk and be friendly to this same staff member but since I was not able to get over to the complex earlier then 5:30 due to my job -half an hour before closing - I was treated as if I could not be more of a nuisance as she did give full attention to friends who must have been waiting for her to get off work. She literally answered me with mumbles and grunts and refused to look me in the eye, let alone glance in my direction. I almost reconsidered signing!! Perhaps it's just me, but when paying for a luxury apartment complex you most likely would like to be treated with respect.

In response to the "story" above, which is exactly what it was, because I was there, it is all a matter of perception. The "Rude" member of the office staff that she was referring to, was actually walking over to this woman and her significant other out of concern. I happened to be talking to her,(the memember of staff), and walked over with her. As we both approached the couple, they were already standing there with there arms folded in a defensive manner. The member of staff was only asking questions out of concern. She was also dressed in navy dress pants not pink sweatpants. I have lived in Riverstone for almost three years and this particular member of staff has been nothing but personable and polite.

Was it your business to be walking over there with her? Probably not. I'm guessing your a member of the staff.
