I lived at Colonial Village for approximately 13 months and it was pure HELL. First, the roach problem was totally out of control. I woke one night to roaches covered almost an entire wall. I contact the office and was told someone would be out to take care of the problem. No one came, so I brought and set off 7 bombs in my apartments. I did it again in a few more weeks.

Then after I got the roach problem under some control, the mice started. I was greeted by a mouse running acoss the back counter in my kitchen. Once again I notify the office, just to give some glued mouse traps. Those traps became full in matter of days. I complained again about the problem with no response. I contact PG Office of Housing and filed a complaint with them.

The responsed with a eviction notice. I wanted to fight Colonial Villiage on this. I went to court with all my rental payments, copies of the complaints'; just to be told the case was dropped. Their lawyer said they had made a mistake. I then contact the main office and was told that the property rep was on-site. I went to the office the talk to the property rep. This man was so nasty and said that we had a drug problem in the building I lived in. I told him that no one in my house used drugs and that we take a test right now and there.

Gun fire was the normal on weekends. I know while I lived 3 or 4 people had been killed outside in the parking lot. One youg man was shot entering his building.
Warm weather was the worst time...kids cussing, playing loudly until 3 or 4 in the morning, people hanging outside being disrespectful towards everyone, cars being stolen and women and girls being raped doing laundry.

Tenants running businesses out of their homes. Candy lady sold sodas, candy, cupcake and other items. Pharamicial suppliers was in almost every building selling weeds, cocaine, and hard stuff. The swimming pool allowed everything to happen...lound music to open air women market to drug sells.

I was more than glad to leave Colonial Village. Sleeping with one eye open to being outside when my child wanted to ride her bike. They need to close down the apartment complex completely, bull doze it to the ground. It's worse than being in HELL!!!

I totally agree with you I broke my lease because the mice weren't paying rent. The staff was disrespectful trifflin and I couldn't take it another day. I stayed from May until October 2007.
