A house is not a home unless you make it one.

I have lived in Oxon Hill Village for about 2 years and I am about to move due to my job relocating and it was time to move on to something better. I have not had any issues that could not be controlled by my prayers and me and my husband. There are some issues at Oxon Hill like there is some noise, smoke, many children and security. Overall though it's a good place to live for a short time maybe to save money. I would not recommend it for a large family or long term (more than 3 years.) As far as rodents are concerned I have not had that problem. I have seen a few roaches. If you see them you call maintenance and get them to spray. If they don't come, take some responsibilty and set off a bomb, and continue to call maintenance. I read a lot of bad reviews and the only thing I can say is you have to take responsibility for the surrounding of your kids and family. Security, Maintenance, and the Leasing office cant do everything but, as tenants there are some things we can do to alleviate problems. For example, keep a clean house and there wouldn't be rodents. Know where your children are at all times and security would not harass them. Go outside with your kids so security wouldnt have to monitor them so closely. If people are making noise at an ungodly hour say so the first time(with some tact), 2nd time call security, 3rd time call the cops. If someone is smoking in the building which happens to be illegal and punishable by law refer to the previous sentence. If maintenance doesnt respond to calls that could endanger your health if not responded to, contact your local better business bureau or the news. That will get people to moving. We as a people are mistreated because we allow it to happen. Know your rights and love your neighbor as yourself and I guarantee things will go better for you. God bless.

I agree with everything you said, but I will not recommend Oxon Hill to anyone. Oxon Hill Village can be a nice place to live once certain people are gone; and I not going to say who. The building where my husband and I reside at in the begin we had tentants who always smoke marijunna and made loud noise in the hallway. But I stop that by calling the rental office and Mr. Smith who is very kind. He and I came up with a solution I was to call him as soon as the noise and marijunna smoke started; and he will send the security guards around. This actually worked they were cost in the act plus these people are gone. They were evicted last month......I don't like seeing anyone or persons evict from their home but these people needed to go. Since I've been here at least 5 people evicted and some skipped out. Now we have 5 new tentants who are very nice people things been kind of quiete especially the ones who lives next too us. We still have noise from the kids, but once they are in things are back to normal. Since we have gotten rid of the marijuanna in the hallway and people loitering all the time that is a good thing......now its the trash on the floor; and I just wish people pick up behind themselves. Maybe they will get tire of hearing me fuss all the time, and hopefully they will join me in picking up. I only gave you information on where we live at but the swimming pool part and play ground that is the worse place to live. Every morning I see out of control kids who curses alot, plus there people hangs outside of the buildings. Too me it looks like the ghetto my son and I hates to walk around there. What I don't understand is why the parents are not walking or standing with these kids. There are only a small hand full that I see everyday; and their kids are small. The kids who are went out parents are between the ages of 7 and up and they runs around getting into everything. Some of them I saw climb the gate that surround the pool, and this been more than two times. They fights all the time which I've never seen nothing like it before, plus they are so disrespectful to the adults. Our boys are 11 and 13, we keeps a close eye on them. Anyway, thank you and god bless you as well!
