I've been living here now for a few months, and couldn't be happier. I had seen all the backlash of disgruntled tenants, and had let my realtor know that I wasn't comfortable even doing a tour. I am SO happy he convinced me otherwise. My boyfriend and I are living in a newly remodeled one bedroom-- it has new carpeting, paint, windows, appliances, hardware... you name it! The pool is gorgeous and clean- the play grounds and gardens are well lit and ALWAYS busy. The police whole patrol the area can be a bit nosy, but, then again, we've only been bothered when either one of us storms out during a midnight fuede-- who wouldn't be worried about someone stalking their grounds at 1 in the morning' I have had to call maintenance on only a few minor details (the thermostat was installed improperly-- which was replaced the next day, they fixed the air vent that same day since I couldn't reach the lever), but the biggest win was the following: I am extremely sensitive to molds, mildews, etc. but because of my skin the chemicals commercial and residential companies typically use can't be brought into my home. They steamed my walls and reimbursed my purchase for the organic cleaners... and in the end it turned out to be nothing more than some oil runs from the paint (me and my steamy baths). The community is extremely friendly and family oriented, and these accusations of crack heads and drug dealers- I've heard it all just dealing with the area. This community is far from the rambles and "ghetto"-image these people are trying to portray. It may have been like this at one time, but I've yet to see any of these issues. I live on the 3rd floor, and have seen a cockroach only ONCE- which I then announced to my realtor and he had the ENTIRE BUILDING inspected... not a one since. There's free storage on every floor, and clean laundry facilities INSIDE. There are no leaks, no creaks, no break-ins or thefts. Everyone in my building is quiet, and the loudest it gets is when all the kids are either headed off to school or on their way home-- other than that the only disturbances we've had would be the ice cream truck that swings by every day or so. And let me tell you what. If children can walk home from school and play on the playground by themselves, if an ice cream truck is willing to come through everyday, if the police offer you an umbrella because it's raining and you haven't a coat... if the maintenance man helps you carry your groceries inside because your hands are full... then you have most definately found a home.

Now, I'm not a representative of the company, and, trust me, with all the negatives written about this place it's hard not to let that influence your choice. But give this place a chance, and I promise you it'll be worth your time.

Don't forget!! If you're accepted here you're accepted to all their locations (which is how we found Oxon Hill Village).

No matter your decision, good luck and I hope you find a home soon!!

You only been living here for a short while, and I myself been living here for 7 months. And yes there are drugs in the neighborhood, and the kids are out of control you can ask anyone who been living here longer. Maybe the building where you and your husband at is fine, but you can not speak for others especially when you just moved here. When I first moved here in October my place had all new appliances, and I also have hardwood floors. However, I did not ask for the other things such as people loitering in the hallway, marijuanna, trash, and you name it. And on top of it I can hear every sound my neighbors are doing including their personal business. I will have to say the staffs in the rental office has been nice to me, plus they have assisted me in any problems with my apartment and complaints. These are lovely apartments and I have meet some wonderful people, but there some I would not go and say hi to. You also mention in the ad that you and your husband live not the far from the swimming pool. What swimming pool you live near??? If you are talking about the swimming pool next to the playground where the bus stop at. That swimming pool is no where near clean or safe, the kids climbs over the fence almost everyday. Another thing I noticed you said in the ad that your realtor inspected the building. Why don't you have him or her inspect the rest of the buildings, and he will find there are roaches and coachroaches. I haven't seen any mice yet, but more likely there probably are some around. Give it a few months and I bet you will becoming back saying the same thing. As far the air vents been change letter were sent out to everyone last week Tuesday maintance came to everyone apartment and installed new filters, plus they checked the fire alarms to make sure they were working.

Sweetie, this is one sugar coated letter. The rental office staff would be perfect if were not for that ill-mannered, disrespectful Property Manager. One time I visited my sister and she asked me to walk down to pay her rent while she was getting dressed (she wanted to pay it before they closed), I walked in on that Manager harrassing an employee. I assume he was one of the maintenance staff because he had on a blue uniform, and if I had any of my business cards on me, I would have slipped it in his pocket before I left. There is no reason why a man in his position should talk down to or harrass their staff the way this man did. A few people who know me outside of my sister's building have come to me with some concerns, and I can tell you this, Southern Management, needs to be careful because this Manager whatever his name is, is going to be sued really soon, and the company will be named. Me and my sister are close, and Sweetie, I can tell you've only been living there for a short period of time. Oh, it's in your best interest not to complain too much because the manager will retaliate against you. I know one older lady who lives in my sister's building is moving and she said she hates too, but she said it's getting too bad around there for her. She lived there back before they even needed security or police. If it's so nice, ask yourself, why do they have security patroling the property and Prince Georges County Police? I don't live there and my car was vandalized. I also heard stories from tenants about the Property Manager getting beat up for talking smack to the wrong person. There are two maintenance guys that I see all the time working, one is a black guy with dreadlocks and one is an older hispanic guy, everybody else is on golf carts chillin'. I bet those are their best workers and get treated like crap. If it was so nice, then people wouldn't get robbed. If you're on the third floor you're not going to have many cockroaches like the folks on the ground and first floors, the paint fumes keep bugs and rodents away when it's fresh.

This person either works for the property management or is blind; hearing and smelling impaired and stupid--or probably all of the above. This place is the ghetto. Nonworking residents out number working ones 10 to 2 so you got people home all day hanging out on baconies smoking and drinking and watching people come and go--timing you so they know your routines. I work every day and fear when my kids come in after school before I get home because they have to walk through a bunch of lazy people sitting out on the steps smoking and drinking--teenagers and grown azz folks that should know better. I don't let my kids out because the last time my son went out; a bunch of no good older boys stole the sneakers off his feet and beat him badly when he tried to defend himself. I tell him now to just let the trash have it because his life is more precious to me than a pair sneakers that can be replaced. I called the police and it took hours; by that time the criminals were long gone. And get this--2 of them live in this apt. complex somewhere. This is pure Ghetto living. I pray the God that I can save enough money to get of this rat and roach infested hell hole and give my kids a bette place to live. This is a damn nightmare. DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER LIVING IN THIS HOLE! ANYBODY THAT SAYS IT'S GOOD HERE ARE LYING AND CRAZY!

yeah, sweetie i think you have been miss lead by all the upgrading that your apartment has. There has been some recent break ins on the property nobody cares its not them . The children are out of controll but i stop keepin my children in the house they are not going to let those hootlums keep them from enjoying there self. The rental office have the tenants that they look out for and I doubt if your realtor checked the entire building out he would have moved you himself. Don't boost it up for us we know the truth the roached damn near take over the apartment. I dont care what use the keep coming back then they send out the exterminator and he use that cheap as ---- it is a mess. You and your husband probaly live up by the rental office where the make sure that it is clean because that is the first thing you see when come into the complex. compare thepictures online or there website of the building up front and then against the building in the rear..
