I have a lot to say about this place. Okay, I moved here in August 07.... I was OUT a week after Thanksgiving 07. My first two weeks should have been a sign but I ignored them all. When I first moved in (August now) it was HOT outside, my air did not work for almost a week. I was in my kitchen and I kept seeing these tiny dust bunnies come up from behind my refrigerator. I just thought it was really dusty because I was told the kitchen was newly remodeled and it never occurred to me to clean behind the fridge when I moved in. Shame on me; come to find out there was a BIRD in my refrigerator vent! I was instructed by a health inspector to throw out all of my food. And we know that Southview didn t pay for that! They tried to make it seem as if the bird got in some other way or that I left my doors open. Not that it could have gotten in there on the truck. Well after they went threw my whole apartment they soon realized it was NOT my fault and replaced the refrigerator.

I was sitting in my room one morning, I just happened to stay home from work and a mouse ran from my utility closet into my kitchen. Southviews version of exterminating is laying down so many glue traps that you can't even walk into your kitchen! THEN I came home from work one day and found a mouse in the glue trap, the office was NOT closed and they left me with the dead mouse! I probably wouldn't have been so mad if I wasn't pregnant and STRESSED to the lady in the office that I needed the mouse to be removed immediately because I am pregnant. I came home from work the NEXT day and it was STILL there. I left and went to my parents house and started looking for a new place to live.

I'm still trying to figure out what the security guards do. I always see them by the gates near the end of the high-rise parked next to each other talking. One day I called them because a neighbor was playing Go-Go music so loud as if the whole complex belonged to them! When I told them about the loud music at 1 AM they proceeded to get an attitude with me because I asked them to do their job!

Now the kids.... I don't have anything positive to say about them so I'll proceed to their parents. Not all of them are bad. There were a few nice ones that helped me when I needed it. As for the majority, some people just need not have children if they can't control them. Someone had a party with crabs and the children didn't even live in my building BUT there were crab pieces all over the hallway floor!

The floors and the walls are so thin I always knew it was 4:30 AM just by hearing my upstairs neighbor!

Dont EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER pick an apartment over the laundry room. You will get NO SLEEP! People argue down there, kids playing, the washing machine s spin cycle has all the clothes on one side. Nothing but noise! And people wash clothes at 2 AM!

Parking, you might as well park on the street and hope for the best! If I came home after 7 PM, there was no parking anywhere near my building. BUT you can always find out of state tags lined up in prime parking places. I asked the rental office about implementing a parking system and all they can tell me is that Mr. Von Evans is working on it. Im sure he was not.

And when people smoke! Regardless of what they are smoking it comes in your house! I lived on the 1st floor and people would really stand outside my door and smoke and if I wasn't in the living room they would watch my tv! SERIOUSLY!

Now to the heating, when I turned on the heat, a strange smell came out of the vents. I asked them to look into it and they sent over the same lazy maintenance man and said that everything was normal. But that smell was not normal and FINALLY I had a real heating/AC technician come over and the problem was fixed. Dead mice in the heating system! The absolute straw that broke the camels back! I was out 5 days later I didnt even care about how much money I had to spend to get out of there!

Im telling anyone that is interested in moving here: KEEP LOOKING!!! I UNDERSTAND THAT TIMES MAYBE HARD AND YOUR ALL OUT OF ALTERNATIVES BUT THERE IS SOMETHING BETTER OUT THERE!

I am so sorry to hear that, and I know the feeling, becuase when I was living there in 2005,there was a small fire in the midrise, so everyone evaculated, but when I came back there was a mouse swimming in the kitchen sink with my dishes!I had just had my son maybe 2 month's before that and I found mouse droppings in my baby's crib, and that was it for me, I turned to rental office out, and they tried to make me pay back rent, and I took the pictures of the droppings in the tub, the crib, and the window seal in my room to Southern Management main office, and got all of my money back! They are triflin, unprofessional and people need to call the damn health department on them!No one and I mean NO ONE has to live in these conditions,there are so many other complexes that are clean, and care out people!

I agree with it all and now I am living in the pits of hell the residents above me keep noise all of the night and day,I dont even need an alarm clock because they keep so much noise I have reported to the office the response was they are getting carpet yeah right I am moving any place is better than this and I have been here 4 months if you are looking keep looking because you dont want to live here it's not worth it
