How in the world are you going to say "Don't Believe alot of what you Read Here"'''' Just because that's NOT YOUR Experience doesn't mean that someone didn't experience the problems and issues that they wrote about! What an IDIOT thing to say'@*$!! What I wrote is exactly what happened....

I have absolutely NOTHING to gain by downing Southview and what I experienced while living there. Just give it sometime, it's cold outside right now Dear. When the weather breaks and summer comes, you'll be singing a different tune as soon as hibernation is over and the sweet wonderful sounds of gunshots ringing in your ear and the wild azz kids fighting and playing outside til 2 and 3 o'clock in the morning. Or to hear about the youngman shot in the parking lot(this happened on MANY Occasions).

To go out in the morning on your way to work and find that someone stole your car...or tampered with it and broke the lock(s), or to look out unto the parking lot wondering why your car alarm keeps going off and see that the all so caring neighorhoood kids sitting on your vehicle or in my case saw the kid purposely taking his hand and hitting the hood of the car to MAKE the alarm sound.....these are just A FEW of Southview's favorite things.

I see that you just moved there(WOW...TWO FULL MONTHS what a milestone). I'll be looking for your response as the REAL Southview rear it's ugly head. ENJOY the peace while it last.....

Sorry, Professor of Apartment Rating Reviews didn't know we were in an online English class.....RELAX it ain't that serious LOL,LOL,..what a clown. That's right go for the punctuation, spelling and grammar put down didn't know you were critiquing. Don't think more highly of yourself than you ought you freak'n live in Southview. I know DC VERY well, and have lived in the good and not so good areas of this city for years. I knew Southveiw wasn't the greatest place to live.. any reasonable human being from this area knows that. When I'm paying good money for rent to live in what you yourself called a NOT ALL BAD complex I expect BASIC things from the management co., and some of this is even in your leasing agreement. A degree of noise from children is expected, but not at 2 and 3 in the morning showing NO respect for others, or have MICE in my house and hear them scratching and cawling in the walls. You were realistic and expecting someone to steal your things and possibly see roaches and rats from day 1 though you still chose to move in....ummm Why would someone say this and still move in the joint??!! Even after seeing all of the negative reviews that go back as far as the 1990's. So, either you fit into one of three categories like the majority of residents of SV "I can't afford a better apartment right now" "I'm in the military" or "I have **ck up credit and can't get a better apartment". It's okay, save up or improve your credit then move to a nicer area. So, no need to reply back it would be a total waste of typing! I gotta roll my lunch break is over, Oh, and enjoy your apartment living at Southview. Have a pleasant day Professor :-)

LOL! You're too funny! We all make decisions but I in particular was looking for the cheapest place with the most bang for my buck. I was living someplace MUCH better but in order to save the appropriate amount I need at closing I had to move someplace way cheaper. I knew Southview was the hood so I never expected much to begin with BUT I WAS PLEASANTLY SUPRISED! I took every precaution I could to prevent insect & rodent problems. So far it is working for me. As far as the crime, PG County police will tell you that car theft is the #1 crime for that area and since I did my research I knew that before I signed a lease. I just made sure my car had the proper security that would prevent it from being hot-wired, rewired to start, etc. PROBLEM SOLVED! And if it's vandalized well...that's why I pay insurance every month! My point is that at times you have to make sacrifices in order to achieve higher ground bot don't move to the hood and expect Buckingham Palace. For me, that sacrifice is living in the hood for a year by paying less than 1/2 the amount of rent I was paying before in order to save to live where I really want to live. So NO...I don't have messed up credit. This was the lessor of all evils on Southern Avenue but offered a decent bang for the buck! Sorry you're experience sucks but readers deserve to know that not everyone has had a horrible experience like you.
