Looks are definately deceiving when it comes to this place!

I had just left the military and was setting out on my own for the first time and was only able to check out the premises during the day due to a long commute back to the barracks. When the time came to move in, I had to do it at night and that's when reality struck! The getto scene was definately not for this 21yr SWF, that's for sure! I had three male friends, who were all Marines helping me move in, who said they wouldn't dare stay the night in this place! I had to keep a loaded gun at my bedside for protection, it was the only way I felt safe.
The apartment walls werw a joke, I could hear all my neighbors above and on the side all night long. Once I banged on the wall and was then threated from man on the other side. The hardwood floor was stained in the bedroom and look to me like blood. It wouldn't have surprised me if someone had been shot or stabbed while living there before me.
I'm glad my boyfriend moved in when he did!!! Ever single car we owned was messed with. One had all the windows busted out and everything else stripped out of it. Another was smashed in from the passenger side, a hit and run while it was parked in the parking lot. And last but not least, a brand new car was stolen after only having it two days, police found it 13 days later after the snow melted downtown in DC. On top of that the first car was towed for simply setting in one spot for 48 hours without moving, the towing people claimed it was grounds for abandonment. We had to drive 2 hours into Maryland to retrieve it and pay a hefty fine!!!!! It was the lousiest excuse I have ever heard, I swear it was a towing scam!!!
All I can say it thank GOD I didn't have any children at the time...I would have feared for there lives. Drugs were everywhere!!! There were even needles found on the grounds near my front door, and police sirens rang out all night long and long with gun shots from time to time. I don't know how I made it to my car sometimes let alone how I survived my lease. I'm just thankful that none of my loved ones and myself were never injured.
Ladies, whatever you do...don't live here!!!
