I was asleep when I was awaken by constant popping noise, which sounded like gunfire to me. I inititally brushed it off as fireworks, but it kept happening for several minutes and I finally called 911. The police dispatcher asked me where I was calling from and when I told her Doncaster Village, she said are you located off of Summit' I said yes, and the police dispatcher responded that the police had already received several 911 calls related to same problem and that they were sending officers to check it out. Was it gunfire or fireworks' What the heck going on at Doncaster Village'

It doesnt seem like a good choice. They started charging for water? It's time to get a house at this point.

I agree with you. I live in shawnee ct and i hear the gun fire as well. However, i can't tell where it is coming from. There has also been alot of strange people lurking in the stair wells late at night when i get off work around midnight, and that's a little intimidating!

Oh my... I live on the other side(closer to Pine Grove Middle) and I thought I was dreaming one night when I heard gun shots. I had to shake my head because my first thought was fire crackers. Then I realize that fire crackers don't sound like that, this was gun fire. I think that it's coming from between where I live, across the field and maybe around by Pine Grove Elementary area (maybe behind that). Ever since this complex was taken over by CRC, things have not been the same. Now they are starting to charge water. Your right, time for a house. I have been here almost six years and my rent has gone up a lot. They (CRC) claim this is a 650 square foot apartment, but I believe it's smaller. I really don't see any improvements. I did not even get a new railing for my balcony. I spoke my neighbor the other day to ask if she was renewing her least and she said no. Don't you know, her lease has not gone up in the two years she's been here and she has wall to wall carpeting. What is the deal with that!!!!!!! Mind you, I have been here longer. I guess my rent increase was the increase for both of us. Another thing, your right we need some kind of intercom system because anyone can enter in the doors. I mentioned that to them a few years ago when mail was missing. This will be my last year

I strongly agree. I do believe people are setting off fireworks at the middle school. I have seen that. The police do "hang out" there at night and sometime catch them. I think mgmt doesn't care about problems. YOU should call the main office for any complaints.

I will definitely write a letter! I hear all sorts of loud noises at night and I'm not sure it is fire crackers or gun shots - but, I have noticed a lot of helicopters circling over. Has anyone seen the off duty police officer, I know that I haven't!
My rent went up $45! And, I can't believe that they are charging for water now, what's next!! Do each of us have a meter on our apartment so they know exactly what to charge or is it a guess?

When I renewed my lease in 2007, I questioned the rental office about the new fee for water. I asked how them how they were going to determine how much water each unit is using. I was told "we will take the total bill and divide by the number of units". Basically, some tenants (those with 2 or less persons in the apt) will be ripped off. Why should I have to pay the same amount as a family living in my bldg. I am a single person living in an apt.

Wow I agree with all of those comments. I thought I was just being picky. My fiance has yelled at some kids for shoting fireworks in the middle of the night in our parking lot. I didn't realize there were multiple gun issues. I keep odd hours myself and luckily the parking lot is right there so it's a short walk to my apartment; but it is scary to think people are lurking around. I am glad you all posted those comments. Yes, they are charging for water, and our choices are to sign and pay or move out. I feel guilty because we are two people and I am sure we use more water than one person, and certainly less than a larger family. It is not a clever system. And, adding in the extra quarter for laundry is insulting.
I generally like our apartment complex, but the management is kind of stingy and I have had a few serious issues with maintenance. There was mildew in my shower and closet and they kept telling me they fixed the problem, and only when we wrote a letter to the owners did they actually fix the problem. Either they are very stupid or thought I was, because the excuses they continued to give me were absurd. By the way, we are leaving this month. Signed; Renter in 1 Shawnee Court
