DO NOT MOVE IN HERE

I have just completed my lease at Sky Larke. I loved the apartment itself however the security and staff are HORRIBLE. Security: My car was broken into twice leaving here! The staff leaves notices about security and safety which is a big warning sign. STAFF: The management staff are some of the rudest and unproffessional people I have ever met in my entire life. My lease was up August 2 and I gave notice on June 20th. Per their lease you have to give 60 days notice therefore it would have extended my lease until Aug 20th. I rec'd a letter stating I was responsible for my apartment, rent and utilities until the 20th because of my "late" move out notice. I did not recieve a notice of what my rent would be or move out information due to my lease ending shortly until the last week of July. So how could I make a sound decision as to staying or not if I didn't even know what my rent would be'
Along with that I was in the process of moving out prior to August 2 and had some belongings still in my apartment including furnitre, clothes, shoes, and nick nacks. Most was stored in a closet and the furniture was still in the apartment. I came to my apartment the weekend after the second to find my belongings spread and rumeged through my bedroom and my furniture and other belongings GONE! I spoke with a maintence man and he stated he rec'd orders from management to clean my apartment out due to back due rent. Mind you I was two days late on my rent! TWO DAYS!
After speaking with the property manager I was told my stuff was taken and being held for past due rent and I had abondaned the apartment from their prospective because their was no food in the apartment. They said they have tried to call which my number had recently changed. There is a second party on the lease which they did not contact nor did they leave any notice on the door, mail box or mail a letter stating they were trying to contact me and are going to remove my belongings.
I was contacted again in regards to my belongings and was told she was told by the maintence manager that my stuff was thrown away!
I can not believe they would go into my apartment that I was still paying rent for and responsible for per their lease contract until the 19th.
I have not returned any keys nor move out paper work nor have i cleaned the apartment. So how in the world can they do this. When I asked the women she said they assumed this becuase MOST PEOPLE do this.
I am so shocked and pissed off I could scream! From my stuff being ram shacked and picked threw, to it being thrown away (which, come on, they went through it took what they wanted and left the rest) and the conversation with the horrible women of a manager.
DO NOT MOVE IN HERE AND DEAL WITH THIS UNPROFFESSIONAL MANAGEMENT AND UNLAWFULL APARTMENTS.

Unfortunately, people don't always give accurate information when posting comments. I have always had a good response with management and they do not throw items away unless there was a reason. Don't always believe what people say.

The tenant is correct, staff is pretty unhelpful. This place does everything as inexpensive as possible, including oaying the staff. As we all know, you get what you pay for.

I have lived here since august 2006....the neighbors over me have wet my hallway ceiling continuously since then...I have two spots in the hallway ceiling and it is damp all the way down to the bedrooms...I am about to have the ceiling and furnace closet checked for mold...I have reported the spots twice however it is not that important....I guess...the first time in 2006...the second time after the property was sold......

My new cars back window was smashed into sometime last night.
I hate this place:I dont know why people are wondering why everyone is moving out to PA...um duh to get as far away from the damn beltway as possible. Skylark spends more money on area beautification of the leasing office then it does the neighborhood. The building in which i live smells like mod and piss..its disgusting..needless to say we are moving here in a month
