It's a shame - this could be a much nicer complex if the management staff treated the people that live there better and put their money into keeping up with the grounds and common areas rather than spending thousands of dollars in cosmetic landscaping at the rental office. Oh, they resurfaced the parking lots and spray painted the rusty old trash containers - but if you are thinking about moving there - actually take a walk around some of the buildings and in to the hallways - no grass - stained dirty worn old carpeting in the hall ways, etc. In addition, the front door locks are old and not dead bolts - very unsafe! And, there are very old lights on some of the buildings that don't work properly, making some of the areas very dark at night.

I moved here over one year ago and have had horrible problems with the management and the staff in the office. Initially thinking I had a move in date and having given notice to my other landlord, I had to repeatedly call them before I found out that I really had an apartment there - I actually had to insist that I come there and sign the lease! They tried to offer me a different apartment than the one I originally had agreed to, but finally, with reluctance, they agreed to let me move in to the apartment they orginally promised. That should have been my first warning not to move in there!

After I moved in, I received a water bill that I wasn't made aware of when signing the lease - they charge about $30 PER MONTH for water - ridiculous!

Although the apartment is quite large (larger than most in the area) and was in good shape when I moved in (fairly new appliances, bathroom, kitchen, doors, etc.), the walls are thin and you can hear your neighbors walking and talking. The floors really sqeek - even with wall-to-wall carpeting.

There have been maintaince issues that they can't seem to resolve. The maintenance staff have been pleasant and respond quickly, but the office staff treat you like crap if you have to call in with a maintenance issue. Especially, if you have to call in more than once for the same issue! Unfortunately, the issues that I've been dealing with haven't been resolved and I have to deal with these people. They are rude, incompentant and don't listen to what the issues are or make excuses. There have been several issues that have never been repaired, and some things that were repaired that instead of what needed to be repaired. And, I tried to go in and speak with the manager to resolve some of these issues on several occassions and she won't even talk with you when you stop by there! Very rude - not good customer service at all.

Don't take my word for it - just make sure you take your time and check carefully before you sign on the dotted line.

Well, it is quite funny that you are that upset but won't leave your name and put anonymous. I have lived here for several years and have seen a great improvement since the last owners. Believe me I have seen a 190 degree change. The grounds use to be bare they are beautiful now. I have had nothing but great customer service from the management office and I have always been able to speak with the manager or assistant if necessary. I also speak with Linda the resident relations person.

The response from Srae8560 is quite obviously from the staff at the rental office. This response is a perfect example of how the management staff doesn't pay any attention to what the tenants say and how combative they can be - I don't see your name on the response. Lucky you rae8560 - most of the tenants at this complex haven't had the same kind of plesant experience as you have! I just moved out of there and yes, I agree with most of the comments the anonymous writer has written. Also, what the anonymous writer reports is very true, the only grounds that are beautiful now are at the rental office. The other areas have really gone down hill and as of last week, are very bare with no grass. I also agree with the original writer that the office staff have been less than pleasant to deal with - and not always available.

When dealing with rental agencies, it is best to use your anonymous name. Just because you have a complaint does not mean that you want to put your name out there and that you necesarily want to leave. You just want your problems to be resolved and to get a little respect in the process. I have to leave the property I am now residing at because the property manager was angry because I contacted the code enforcement for their negligence in resolving maintenance issues. I was interested in moving into Skylarke Pointe and thought it looked nice from the outside. I am sorry to hear that about management staff because they can really make things hard for you. Good luck to you.
