Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2004
I lived in Pelham from June '03 - June '04. It was my f1st place (with a roommate) and they must've thought that because we were young and in college, we would also be dumb, but they were soooo wrong. I'm proud to say I made their lives just as much of a pain as they made mine. Here's the list of issues - My bedroom ceiling leaked and eventually caved in because of condensation from the air conditioning. It took 2 weeks to get fixed. Our water heater flooded the apartment about a month before we moved out - I'm sure it still smells like wet dog because the carpet never got dried. The oven turned on and off by itself. The tube connecting the heater to the vent was cracked so all of the heat escaped into the closet where the heater was. My roommate was without a closet door for 7 months!! The brand new dishwaher never worked and that was fixed by the cable man because he felt bad for me and he used to do maitenance there but left because of how shady they are. The maitenance staff is clearly made up of unprofessional, lazy people who just needed something to do. The office staff is impossible. They ignore phone calls, letters, any means of communication. I called the Better Business Bureau, Housing Authority and County Council because of their lack of service. Trust me, this is one situation when you should learn from someone else's mistakes!!
So my reccomendation of course - DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES MOVE THERE UNLESS YOU LIKE FRUSTRATION AND UNPROFESSIONAL PEOPLE.
