So I don't ramble on I will break my review down by each category.
Parking: No real complaints about parking, except maybe they need a guest parking area.
Noise: These walls are thin! I can hear every conversation that my neighbor has and they are just speaking in normal tones. I have to turn my TV up to drown there conversation out. In the summer the people behind us are outside until 2AM on a Sunday making all kinds of noise, I guess they don't have jobs to go to on Monday.
Grounds: The grounds are OK nothing really special, could use some more color.
Safety: I would not recommend that a single women move here by herself. The complex is poorly lit at night and the shrubs in front of some of the buildings need to be cut down. It looks like at one point there were locks on the main door to keep just anyone from walking into your building, I think they should go back to that. There was a sign put on the buildings recently that there was a security company now patrolling, but no one I know who lives here has seen them. I recommend that you take basic steps to ensure your safety if you move here.
Construction: The layout of the apartments is great. It's very roomy and spacious and they have the largest balconies that I have ever seen. The sound insulation obviously sucks. They like to tout that they were recently renovated, but a little research will tell you that was done several years ago. You may get a weird combination of new and old in you apartment.
Maintenance: Ok, but you will have to call and email multiple times before they get around to you. It is better to just fix it yourself.
Staff: The young ladies in the office are ok, but I have had nothing but problems from the so called "manager" Angel. If you deal with her she will make promises and not follow through and then when you call her out on it she will give you nothing but attitude. If you have dealt with businesses or gone to a restaurant in this area you know exactly what I am talking about.
Overall: Not really bad, but not great either. There are a few minor things that could be fixed in a short time that would make these apartments great, but until the owners stop trying to sell it and hold the property management company accountable nothing will really ever change. If you are looking for somewhere cheap to live so you can save some money, move here. But if you are looking for more than that I suggest you look elsewhere. I would strongly recommend that you speak to some current residents before you think about signing a lease here.

WOW!! You are pretty nice. I personally feel brookhaven has lots of issues that have not been addressed for quite a while now. Maintenance to put it nicely SUCKS!!! They don't respond until after 6-8 calls or after you go into the office and raise hell. Laundry Rooms OH MY GOD!!! horrible. But if you try to put a machine in your apartment the flip out but can't keep the laundry rooms clean nor the machines working. Safety is a huge issue. It is way to dark and as you said the bushes around are easy hideouts. Parking is the only thing that is normally good except for the fact they could get there lines redone as most of them are very light and hard to see. Oh did I mention the electricty is a mess as far as the wiring and curcuit breakers they spark and click on and off which can cause fires if not looked into most of my outlets are not working. Finally the apartments could really use some exterminators ASAP. Overall rating of Brookhaven on a scale of 1-10 is a 3 and the only reason I am still here is because the rent is cheap and I am saving to get a house. But I hope the recent fire (which my family is praying that all the families that lost there homes will be able to rebuild and get all that was lost in a reasonable amount of time) (also Thank God no one was seriously hurt). will cause the authorities to look into brookhaven and casue the management to make some much need changes.
