I MOVED INTO BROOKHAVEN WHICH WAS FORMALLY CALLED VILLAGES OF HUNTINGTON ON MAY 1ST. 1999. EVER SINCE THAT DAY IT HAS BEEN A NIGHMARE. THE LEASING AGENT MS. CLAUDETTE WAS VERY NICE AND HELPFUL. I LIVED IN A THREE BEDROOM APARTMENT ON THE T LEVEL IN THE RENTAL OFFICE BUILDING. THE APARTMENT STAYED FLOODED ALL OF THE TIME. WHEN YOU CALLED MAINTENANCE THAT DID NOT RESPOND UNTIL SEVERAL CALLS LATER. THE APARTMENT STARTED GROWING MUSHROOMS IN MY APARTMENT AND BLACK MOLD THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE APARTMENT. MY CHILDREN HAD TO BE RUSHED TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM FROM THE SMELL AND THE BLACK MOLD. MANAGEMENT DID NOT RESPOND TO ANY OF MY CALLS. I HAD TO THREATENDED TO GO TO THE NEWS WITH MY STORY FOR THEM TO LISTED TO ME. WHEN THEY DID LISTEN I WAS TOLD THERE WILL NOT BE AN APARTMENT AVAILABLE UNTIL 1 MONTH FROM NOW. SOME HOW MANAGEMENT FOUND AN APARTMENT THE NEXT DAY THAT WAS LOCATED AT 8500 GLEN MICHAEL LANE APT 202 ONCE THE MOST DANGEROUS AND FILTHIEST APARTMENT BUILDING THAT THEY HAVE. THEY PROMISED THEY WOULD REMODEL THE APARTMENT TO MY LIKING THAT NEVER HAPPENDED. TEHY PROMISED ME THAT I COULD MOVE BACK TO FIRST APARTMENT ONCE THEY REMODELED IT THEY RENT IT TO ANOTHER FAMILY. TO NO AVAIL AFTER DOZENS OF E-MAILS MY REQUEST TO HAVE THE APARTMENT REMOLDED NO ANSWER. ON MARCH 24, 2006 MY APARTMENT CAUGHT FIRE DO FAULY WIRING. LUCKILY NOONE WAS HURT BUT I LOST EVERYTHING I HAD. THANK GOD MY CHILDREN WERE ALL IN SCHOOL. MY OLDEST DAUGHTER WAS HOME SHE CALLED 911. ONCE AGAIN MANAGEMENT SAID THAT THEY WOULD NOT HAVE AN APARTMENT UNTIL THE END OF APRIL. WHEN THE END OF APRIL CAME THE APARTMENT WAS NOT READY. I HAVE A LOT TO SAYBUT NOT ENOUGH SPACE. I FOUGHT TO GET A REMOLDED APARTMENT AT 3418 BARRY PAUL ROD 103. BROOKHAVEN IS A TERRIBLE PLACE TO LIVE. BROOKHAVEN NEED TO BE TORN DOWN AND START ALL OVER AGAIN WITH THE RIGHT MANAGEMENT TEAM AND OWNERS. THE LOCATION OF THE APARTMENTS ARE GREAT AND SO ARE THE SCHOOLS IN THE AREA. I AM GLAD THAT I COULD ESCAPE FROM BROOKHAVEN. NOT TO MENTION SOMEONE WAS WAS MURDERED IN THE BARRY PAUL COURT. POLICE WERE EVERYWHERE MANAGEMENT TRIED TO COVER IT UP. BUT THE STORY WAS ON THE NEWS. BROOKHAVEN IS INFESTED WITH MICE AND WATERBUGS. I LIVE AT BROOKHAVEN FOR 9 YEARS TOO LONG. IN AUGUST OF THIS YEAR I WILL BE PURCHASING A HOME FOR MY FAMILY. GOOD LUCK TO ALL PRESENT TENANATS.

Sorry, about all your issues @ Brookhaven. But since you left they have new owner, and the property is becoming they way it should be. I can say if I have a problem they will come as sooner possible in 24 hour my stuff are fix, the maintenance staff is great I can say they try very hard to make you happy. They do have a great staff specially Ms Malia she is great and a very Godly Lady as well Miss Ella.. Well Im happy living a brookhaven.. To bad you fell that way, but if you wanted to live in a pleace where you will have no problem buy a home then.. But every place anyone move to they will be problems...

The new owners have been trying to fix up but the problem is the place has been left to deteriorate for so long, its a monumental task. Also proper background checks for residents were not done for years while long time residents were treated poorly. There was no appreciation for good solid residents, everything was about how much money they could make without using any funds for basic upkeep. Another thing is they bill people for water and sewage with no rhyme or reason to the billing. Someone living in a 1 bdrm using minimal water could be paying near 100 dollars per month in addition to rent and someone living in a 2bdrm with 2 kids could be paying 30 per month using twice as much water, etc. In addition, someone really needs to come through and weather seal the apartments with proper fitting doors and windows. As for the grounds, they are dimly lit and there is shrubbery blocking pathways, doors, and windows. Bushes are pretty and wonderful but they do not belong in certain places for safety reasons. They certainly neither belong sitting against buildings nor being over 5ft tall. The once pristine waterway (which is part of the Patapsco tributary) is not so pristine anymore. We shall see if the new owners are up for the task of making the place close to or better than what it used to be.
