I have rented at this place for 2 years - I was drawn to he size of the apartment and the location which I THOUGHT was peaceful...having said that, 2 years later and i am leaving.

I'll start from inside out - the apartments as I stated, are large - it's difficult to find one similar in size (Deer Park has nice size as does the Brittany)

Our first few months here were ok - after a few months, the mice got use to us and started coming out of hiding. We've had the exterminator here 4 times in 2 years for mice. We have also caught AT LEAST 10-12 mice in the space of 24 months - we hardly cook and keep a clean apartment

Our neighbors (not all) have VERY LOUD teenage boys. We've made complaints - I don't know if management has said anything to the residence. I've also called the cops on several occasions because of the volume of noise.

The teenagers CONSTANTLY break the locks from the building doors - I've seen the lock fixed once and was broken the SAME day.

The Security Gate is a joke - SOME guards do their jobs - others let just anyone through - many times the gate arms are broken and anyone can come and go as they please. Residence let dogs poop everywhere and leave it there for kids to step in

My neighbor told me that one night she saw some cops chasing a guy (they caught him) and the cops told her the guy was pretending to be a police officer - this was on the property - management said nothing to us about the incident.

Maintenance came to change my filter and the guy left the filter and said he would be back - 2 months later he still didn't return.

There are SQUIRRELS in the attic since there's a big hole on the outside of the building right above my room. I was told by the exterminator that if they dont get into your apartment, management doesn't care. I called the office and was told it's up to management to decide if they will fix it. ''''' Those squirrels jump flip hop skip everything RIGHT ABOVE MY BED in the attic

Also they said there was a size restriction for dogs but i've seen HUGE dogs here.

Anyway, I could go on but I wont anymore - questions' Email me. I'm glad my lease ends soon and I'll be out by April of this year!!!

I have been shocked and appalled at what I've read about Carriage Hill. We lived there from '95-'98. I loved the three bedroom apartment so much that I often said if they became condos I would be the first to buy one. It was my understanding the complex had been renovated before we came. We didn't see mice (which would have sealed the deal for me to get out because I have a mouse-phobia); we saw no roaches, and maintenance was not only attentive to our needs, but kept the grounds spotless -- with flowers even! But just before we left we started seeing a shift in the types of tenants that were there. Where we use to see retired elderly couples with flowers on their balconies, doctors, lawyers, etc., we started seeing crooked sheets at windows, kids on big wheels and shady-looking characters just before we moved out. Purses were being snatched in the parking lots in the early morning hours. I was told the developers had been given money to renovate the apartments, but in three years had to allow families with Section 8 vouchers to move in. What a shame that was! I hope all goes well in the future for you.

Move away if you live here

I have said it before and I will say it again - as long as Sawyer is getting their money every month - they don't care who it is coming from. We can all write reviews here, make phone calls to the management office and even send letters. One person complaining at a time obviously does nothing. We should have all received a memo from the management office back in November about all the recent break-ins on the property. That same memo said there was going to be a community meeting with management and the local police department. Here over a month later - that meeting has still not happened. Here's a crazy idea - how about all of us that have the time to write a review on this site get together and create a united front to demand changes? Maybe if we as a community who actually cares about their homes and safety can maybe make a difference in our community. Let me know if anyone would be interested by replying here.
