THIS IS LONG, BUT I URGE YOU TO READ IT SO THAT YOU CAN TRULY REALIZE ON HOW MANY DIFFERENT LEVELS CARRIAGE HILL IS DEFUNCT.
I lived in CHV from 2006 - 2007 and left my lease early, which Sawyer ended up paying for. Carriage Hill was the ABSOLUTE worst living experience I have ever had. I should have known when the day I received my keys I had to have the leasing manager insist that maintenance stay well beyond working hours, needless to say my apartment was no where near move in condition. When you walk in the model and see your gargantuan sized closets, 2 full baths, breakfast room and full size w/d, who wouldn't be excited' But once you move in, the honeymoon is over!!!
Shortly after we moved in, the mice started showing up as if they paid rent too, like Mickey and Minnie were on the lease. There were so many mice you could hear running through the walls! Absolutely disgusting. Well they came and plugged all our holes so we no longer saw them in our house, but we still heard them in the walls.
Then our washer started leaking (we lived on the terrace level), maintenance opened the door to my laundry room (on the patio) and ran a tube from my washer to the grass in front of my house to supposedly drain the water... what kind of solution is that... well I called for two weeks straight (everyday) and they finally told me that they had to dig up my floor and replace the pipes in my kitchen. They did (without moving us to another unit or placing in a hotel) and kicked up dust throughout my whole house with no regards to our furniture or anything else in our home. You'd think after they did that the problem would be fixed right'!' Not so... after they did that work, anytime anyone on our side of the building ran their washer, dishwasher or disposal their water came up and out of my kitchen sink. We ended up having water sitting in our carpet in the breakfast room, so much so that if you stood on the carpet you could hear it "squishing." Needless to say, my house smelled like mildew and we began to see mold spores throughout the carpet in the living room and on the walls. I was then told they needed to dig up the floor in my living room to fix the pipes that ran under the other side of the kitchen wall... RIDICULOUS. Mind you, during all of this I could not use my washer...
At this point, as civilized as I was trying to remain, I really had to stay prayed up to not fight the Business Office Manager. She repeatedly refused to come to my apartment, because she didn't want to be accountable for what she saw there. During the last construction job I told them they needed to move us to another apartment because my children's asthma, as you can imagine, was beginning to worsen. That lady had the nerve to give me a key to a 2 bedroom across the hall for me to use the washer and advised that I could drag my beds over there to sleep at night. We didn't, at that point I contacted my attorney.
In addition, we had a cat die in our hallway (no one knew where the cat came from). This is only my assumption but I bet it was from eating all the poison-filled mice in our neighborhood. When I called to tell maintenance there was a nearly dead animal in our building they asked me what I wanted them to do.... Can you imagine' I had to call Animal Control to come remove it.
Now, to top it all off, the people in our apartment community were some of the most ghetto... Hear me clearly, not everyone, but more than I could count. The people that lived above me fought in the hallway on a regular basis, and once their son peed off the balcony' How can a person be expected to live in that kind of foolishness'
Although it took a lot of time and work from my attorney, I did end up moving to a nicer Sawyer community on their dime and I eventually got a settlement. With all this said, if you are considering Carriage Hill, DON'T DO IT!!!!
P.S. They are now building townhomes, I can only imagine how bad the rodent problem is now that they have dug up ground and disturbed the living area of more of those disgusting little creatures... they need somewhere to go. YUCK!!!

I'm not surprised it hasn't changed one bit. I lived there for over 10 years. It went from good to bad and obviously continues to go further down hill. I do have to admit that the size of the apartments is good, but that's all. I guess if you like mice, mold, drugs and many people who just don't give a damn about others, then this is the place for you. That little slice of hell needs to be shut down, condemned and bulldozed.
