A very bad experience

I've just read all of the reviews that are here, and a lot of people have already pointed out the worst stuff. Luckily, we were able to move out. It was the best day of my life to finally pull away from that horrible place. I no longer had to walk into my building and see a cop car parked outside while the cops combed the place, looking for whatever was going on that particular night--seriously, this was an every night occurrence. It is a mistake to sign a lease with Owings Manor. If you're still determined to live there after reading all of this feedback, MAKE SURE you have renter's insurance. We had over $3000 in damages due to a building malfunction--that, try as we might (we even had a verbal committment from the regional manager to pay back some of our expenses)we could not get re-imbursed for. It's the fine print in the lease that they use to their advantage. And the treatment of our own belongings when maintenance was in our apartment repairing the damage was atrocious--made us have to spend even more money that was never paid back. I wish that I could stand in the front office and tell my story to anyone coming in to sign a lease, but, of course I can't. So, please, look at these reviews--look at all 30-some of them listed. Notice how long it's been since someone recommended the place. Pay attention to what those of us who have lived there are saying. Anyone who recommended did so when the prior company owned the place. Since Apt. Services took over, all of the "not recommended" reviews came pouring in. I know it is hard to find a place sometimes, but stick it out--you will find something so much better than Owings Manor.
