I have only lived here since november, but i have had friends that have lived here for years. So far i have been very happy. Apartment living always has SOME hassels. I'm come on you live in close quarters with many different people with many different lifestyles. I am young and single, no place ON EARTH is crime free, but i feel safe enough to walk my dog after dark by myself. I have never had any bug or rodent problems and all maintenance problems have been adressed in a timely matter. I think a lot of people have their priorities a bit askewed. A dripping faucet is not going to be fixed as quick as a overflowing toilet. But if you were the person with the overflowing toilet wouldn't you hope the apartments were gonna fix that before a leaky faucet' As far as crime or sketchy people, your management people run the apartments and service, they are not here to mother ther neighborhood. call the police if you are worried about that. I can't afford to buy a home so until i can, i'm happy here. all the people who don't like it here try renting from a private landlord, you'll realize how lucky you have it here.

Hey, how about a pipe from your neighbor's apt. upstairs that drowns your entire apartment, ruins all of your belongings, and was repaired so hastily that mold was growing on the walls? not to mention the refusal of mgmt (after previously promising the opposite) to incur any of the costs you encountered to replace the stuff THEIR BUILDING destroyed? How about that? Should that be fixed in a timely manner do you think? Because it never was. Don't give them undue credit, but give yourself some more. Find another apartment. You can do better, believe me.

I had the same problem--a busted water pipe that was "repaired" but maintence never came back to paint over the hole they made in the ceiling, despite repeated calls to the office. 4 months later, the same pipe starts leaking again, and DAYS go by before it is repaired.
