cheaply made

We have lived in a three bedroom townhome for just over three months. They are brand new and are already falling apart (we are the first tenants in this particular unit). Most of the electrical wiring was installed improperly. The A/C only works if you tape off all vents on the first 2 floors and let it trickle down. The kitchen sink is unusually shallow, making washing dishes very hard. The so called "gourmet" appliances, though new are pieces of junk. The outside of the oven door gets extremely hot and can actually scald you--watch out if you have little ones. The washing machine is tiny and has no softener dispenser. The dish washer is also tiny. In the three bedroom version there is no bathroom until you reach the third floor. This is very hard on our guests, especially our grandparents when they visit. The blinds are so cheap that you can clearly see what all your neighbors are up to. It is also very hard to control mold growth in the bathroom due to lousy calking. We get woken up twice a week at 5:00 to 5:30 AM by the garbage truck. The on-site manager is totally clueless and will actually lie to you to get you out of his sight. We have placed numerous maintenance requests. Still waiting.
Basically this place is falling down around us, even if it looks good from the outside. Don't be fooled by the fact that this is a "townhome." All the rooms are tiny. This is fine for my fiancee and I, but forget it if you have children older than two. Go look in Owings Mills for something better. You can likely buy an actual townhome with a monthly mortgage rate not much higher than you pay in rent and you will get more for the money.
