I actually lived at Decoverly two years ago but just found this site. I thought the positive "raving" messages to be quite funny. I can't imagine how anyone could say the place was that great. Those people are DEFINITELY Avalon employees. I am writing to agree with several other people on some things.

1. The garbage thing was way below satisfaction. I drove my garbage to the dumpster(in furthest bldg from it) to usually find it overflowing.
2. They jacked the rent 10% after first year. What a way to reward loyal residents who always pay their rent on time. That's why I moved. I wasn't getting 10% raises at work so how the hell was I going to afford the place in the third year'
3. They collected double rent on the unit because I moved out early and had to pay them, but they had someone else lined up to move in right after me.
4. You CAN hear everything your neighbors are doing. I thought I just have amazingly supersonic hearing. I called the people above me elephants, the people below me would play music after 11pm put turned it down when asked nicely, and I never could figure out where the baby was that was crying in the middle of the night.
5.Noise in the apartment - the closet with the Washer/Dryer was in the living room. Guess I really didn't want to do laundry while I was watching TV anyway.
6.A crime issue. I still remember the morning I came out to see a Mercedes up on bricks with all the wheels stolen. It was a morning I was glad that I didn't have a car good enough for someone to want its wheels. A honda had a radio stolen out of it, also, I saw that window smashed in. For all the rent money I thought it was ridiculous that they didn't do more about the car theft/vandalism problem.

Having said all that though, I had some positive experiences. A problem with a barking dog left out on a patio seemed to be addressed quickly. I thought in general the neighbors were nice. Friendly but not intrusive. But that is something that is constantly changing. It was very close to where I work . . . I came home at lunch. I got direct sunlight in my unit which faced the tennis courts. Kind of a cool view. The fixture and appliances were nice . . . bottom of the line but all new.

I still probably wouldn't recommend it, because I wouldn't live there again due the noise and security problems.
