We just recently moved from Avalon and we have positive and negative things to say about the community.

When we first moved in the place was in fairly good condition.
However, our dryer took 3 90 minute cycles to dry. We complained about it to management and they sent someone out to fix it, but it wasn ot fixed we called back again and maintance told us they were going to clean the systems out soon. Well a month and half later we called and told them we wanted this taken care of immediately. They did come and fix it this time, however we had to pay higher electric bills until they fixed it.
Then our air condition was not working right. It was not blowing cold air. Mind you we are on the top floor..so it was very HOT last summer. We called them and they were not sure what the problem was. It worked for a little while and than it stopped again and and we took the liberty of taking a look at the system and saw that it was frozen. I called maintance and they came and told us something that we already knew....it was frozen and that there was nothing they could do about it, which is not true. This kept happening all summer and temperatures in our apt were reading between 90 to 95 degrees and the loft was like a sauna!! They never did fix our air.
The 2003 snow storm!! I swear we were the last community to get plowed out. We did not get plowed out till the Thurday after the storm!! I had been able to get out luckly because I had to work and saw that all the other communities around us were plowed out. Not even the sidewalks were clear until Thursday either. The people living in the back apartments who couldn't get their cars back there parked all over out front and were walking in snow up to their thighs to get home.
Also, I agree with what the reviewer stated above about the one bedroom....in the winter the bedroom that did not have another apartment attached to it was an ICE BOX this past winter!!
The complex overall was nice and clean. There was not a problem with noise and overall management was friendly and attempted to fill your requests in some of the matters described above I am not sure if it was the maintance or the managements fault.
So our only real problems were with the maintance staff!!
