First of all the people complaining that it is a ghetto must be on something because it is far from a ghetto. The way they are describing it they act like this is Anacostia for crying out loud! It's near the new Falls Grove shopping center, with new $700K townhomes. Literally across the street from Avalon are $350K condos and $500K townhomes. I have seen no evidence of drug deals, shootings, etc. People calling this a ghetto must have never actually seen a ghetto because this is completely the opposite of a ghetto.

I've lived in Prince Georges County in College Park and Greenbelt and experienced vandalism in each apartment complex (to my car, mailbox). In the year living at Avalon at Decoverly, I have experience nothing but friendly neighbors, friendly staff, and a nice neighborhood all together. I felt it was a very safe neighborhood.

To those complaining about low income residents, I believe every apartment complex in Montgomery County must offer low income units. It's only fair especially since there are hard working people who can't afford to live in this rich county but in an apartment that offers it at a lower cost. It doesn't mean they are drug-dealers, robbers, or anything like that.

The only complaints I had was the dumpster location wasn't very ideal for anyone living on the other side of the complex. We had to drive our trash over. They should put additional trash location for the other half of the complex. The other suggestion I had was they could put more street lights because it can get kinda dark.

I also never saw Dog poop. I always saw people picking it up. There are A LOT of dogs though, so if you don't like dogs it may not be the place for you. I never had a problem though with dogs barking or dog poop.

My husband and I did really enjoy Avalon at Decoverly. The only reason we left was to buy a house. I actually kinda wish we still lived there (cheaper than a house!). The fitness center was great and so was the pool. Basketball court could have been cleaned more often though. The apartment layout was nice with open floor plan. I found the maintenance to be good as well.

I really don't know what some of the people who wrote bad reviews expected this place was a good buy for the money in a nice neighborhood.
