I was very hesitant to rent my home at Fireside Park after reading all the negative reviews online. It took me 4 months to decide. However, after visiting the development several times, walking the grounds to see for myself, asking tenants their opinions, I got nothing but positive feed back. I signed the lease and moved in and have had NO problems that have been discussed in the bad reviews. I have NO water leaks (I am on the ground level), repairs are always done when I request them (minor things needed fixed when I moved in since my apartment was vacant for a long time), the maintenance staff are always friendly and competent, especially the supervisor and he NEVER reeks of alcohol as alleged in one of the reviews, parking is adequate and all the buildings have exterior bright security lights that light up the parking lot and sidewalks. I have no roaches (this was my biggest concern before moving in and to my delight I have seen NONE since moving in) or any other kind of insects. There is NOT a crime problem as also alleged in a review. I received a crime statistics report from the City of Rockville police department before signing the lease and it proves there is no crime problem in our development. I have 2 small boys who are completely safe playing outside. They love the sidewalks that wind all through the development and they ride their bikes and skate and I have never had any problems or safety concerns. This is a pet-friendly complex and I enjoy seeing all the different kinds of dogs and cats.

The only negative thing I have to say about Fireside Park is the single-pane balcony/patio sliding glass door and windows that don't keep out the cold very well. This causes a high heating (gas) bill, but still overall I pay a lot less in rent and utilities than comparable apartments in the area. I love living here ! I've lived in this complex for several years and the management has gone completely downhill (from what I understand, the office has flipped at least once). You have to keep on them if you need anything done. The customer service is terrible.. when you present your concerns to them they take a very adversarial position. They will harass you on literally nickel and dime issues, even when they are clearly in the wrong. They make absolutely no distinction between the good tenants and the bad ones. The grounds are kept up okay, though I've been seeing more and more instances of vandalism (this reflects more on the quality of tenants). Fireside also charges some of the highest rates in the area for pets. They don't give you a break. If you're looking to be treated with respect as a customer, find someplace else to live. There are other pet-friendly rentals close outside Rockville.

My only thought after reading this review is that it had to be posted by one of the management staff. I've lived in the complex for 6 years. I have only rarely seen children playing anywhere in the complex. If I had children here, I would break my lease to leave here (one of the reasons we're leaving is that we are soon to adopt a child and I seriously doubt that a social worker would approve of the environment). Not a week has gone by in the last 3 years when there hasen't been a notice FROM THE MANAGEMENT as to the latest crime (rape, theft, etc) in the complex.
