My lease is up and I will be moving to Alexandria. Since I used this site to find another apartment I thought I would write a little about living here at Congressional Village. It's a nice quiet place very close to the metro. I use traincheckdc.com to find out when the next metro arrives and then hoof it on over to the Twinbrook station. It takes about 5 minutes to get there. I can be in Bethesda in 15 minutes, Dupont in 22 and International Airport in 45min - 1 hour. There are plenty of Restaurants in the rockville area. My bf and I fell in love with Crisp and Juicy chicken, a Peruvian Chicken place a few blks away on the Pike. Starbucks coffee and whole foods are a blk away if you are into that sort of thing. Also in the shopping center is a good dry cleaner shop with a sweet oriental lady who always takes good care of us. The gym here is ok. I have seen better and I have seen worse. I can get a decent workout however several of the free weights have dissapeared and never been replaced. The staff is nice and we would have stayed, however we were quoted a really good price on a friday, but saturday it went up 300.00 because "a large company rented 10 units this morning and our vacancy rate when down". That struck a nerve and we started looking elsewhere.
Overall, we were happy with Congressional Village, love having a gas stove, and the Metro station right here, however, we do feel as if we are wayyyy out here and traffic can be a nightmare.

Very insightful information in regard to congressional..but lack of knowledge when you refer to Asians as ORIENTAL..Asians as not oriental. Oriental is not a race but a design noted from the asian culture, i.e. a style of clothing , furniture..
