Oxford Square at White Flint

Overpriced for what you get From: -Anonymous- Date posted: 7/12/2005 Years at this apartment: 2002 - 2005 1 response   While other apartments in the area started lowering their rent, Oxford Square keeps raising it. They recently removed the local trash dumpsters and left one trash compactor at the front of the complex. This is about 5 blocks away from my apartment. It is extremely inconvenient and I find it inconsiderate of their renters. The apartments are old and have not had a major renovation. Things break often. The heat breaks annually (usually on the coldest day of the year and the temperature dips to a chilly 50 in the apartment). The air breaks every summer (on the hottest day of the year) and the inside temperature goes to about 95. Our roof leaks in the same place several times a year and once in a while they come and paint the ceiling to cover it up. A cabinet broke and shattered all of my glass wear in the middle of the night. We can smell the smokers next door and hear the kids running around and slamming doors. Supposedly there is a security door but it is broken more often than not. We live on the top floor and try to keep our apartment at 78 in the summer. Our electric bill can reach $200 in the summer (we are rarely home to use anything but the a/c)...the top floor is HOT in the summer. Own a shovel if you park your car here in the winter. Whenever it snows I have to dig my car out from the snow from the plow. They plow the snow INTO the cars for some reason. The street is clear, but you cannot get to your car. My bathroom floor is almost rotted out and I expect that any day I will fall through and meet the people below me in the bathroom. Pros: Most of the staff is nice but do not go out of their way. Most problems are addressed within a day. Gas and water are covered. Small pets are allowed.
