I rented here for 4 unfortunate years, and I just left for good. The main reason I stayed was that I was too busy with my job to be able to move. That and I made the HUGE mistake of signing a two year lease agreement. By that point, I was resigned to just using the apartment as a place to sleep.
The power went out at least twice a month, usually for a day or so, whenever we got a hard rain storm. The management office lost my check on one occasion, and instead of coming by or calling me about it, they just sued me for eviction. I had to get a lawyer to sort that out. Oh, and the office people (the famous Patricia Scaletta) will enter your unit without your consent to ensure it is being kept clean. Don't bother them with requests for maintenance, they will smile, nod, and forget about you. The first month I moved in the kitchen sink flooded and spread brown, stinking water over the entire apartment, and though they fixed the sink in a week, it took two months for them to clean the carpets.
Also, do a google search for "Maryland sex offender registry," and you'll find that there's a halfway house just down the road on Nebel St. with about ten convicts in it. There's another one across the road with mentally ill criminals. Lately too, the neighborhood has gotten a lot louder at night, with groups of high schoolers yelling at each other in the parking lot early in the morning (like 2 or 3).
Laundry is on-site, and it's fairly typical expensive DC area prices, with $1.50 to wash and $1.25 to dry a load.
The grounds are the only positive, and are really well kept.
Finally my job let me move, and I'll never go back.

It's funny some of the people say there are too many notices and you are saying they enter with no notice.
