My boyfriend and I moved into Parkwood Apartments in July of 2007. When we looked at the apartment, it was relatively clean, with a few stains here and there, but that we could deal with. Only after a few months being there, our room mate started having mold all over his room, and we found it around the rest of the house later on. When we contacted the office, they put dehumidifiers in both of the bed rooms, and said that should take care of it. They refused to pay the extra that was on the electric bill due to the fact that we had to run two of those 24 hours a day. We live on the first floor, and it constantly smells of mildew, amongst other things. When we moved in, they told us that the walls were made of concrete, so we would have a lot of privacy and wouldn't be able to hear our neighbors. This was a complete lie, because we can hear every thing that goes on in the other apartments. The apartment above us sounds like their kids run around the apartment with bricks on their feet! The office also failed to mention that there was only one parking spot assigned per apartment, and with 3 people, it made it quite difficult to make that work, not to mention the numerous times our spot was taken by other people. They also failed to mention that there is a 60 day notice policy, so when we tried to give our notice, since we are moving to Ohio, we know have to wait an extra month and a half to move, since the 60 days only start on the month that you signed the lease, not the day you give the notice. It is way over priced for the quality you get, and it has been nothing but problems since they day we moved in. Look elsewhere, you can find a much nicer place for a much lower rental price!
