Hello, I am an employee at Howard Hills and we, the entire staff, felt it was time to offer you some insight into the positive, "written quotations" from various clients at move-out over the past year and one half. These comments are from residents who have lived here anywhere from one to nine years. They come from those who moved on for another job, for a home purchase, for an unfortunate family change, and a couple who actually had to be asked to leave but, remained positive in the process.
Howard Hills and the town of Savage offers indviduals a community environment with schools, parks, places of worship, shopping, public transportation and quick access to major road arteries that feed bewteen Baltimore and Washington.
Yes, we are human; yes, we do "have our days", but, without fail we can say that everything we do is to benefit our clientele in the most even and fair manner possible and always within fair housing guidelines. We are not always popular especially when clients receive an answer different than what they desired but, always within the guidelines of the lease agreement they chose to sign. And yes, our human nature allows us to get somewhat discouraged and disheartened when we read some of the negative comments but, never angry; people are entitled to their opinions and we respect them.
Yes, Howard Hills' homes are older and are not all modern, new and beautiful like our brand new neighbor, Basford's Retreat. We each serve a purpose - housing - yet, we each have different clientele. Our communities interact as evidenced by their use of our playground, visits to our pool, and use of our roads and open areas to ride bikes, skateboards, and play ball. We are also quick to refer individuals to Basford's Retreat who need larger space, garages, and basements.
The presence of dirt mounds is frustraing to not only you - but, to us, the staff who sincerely feels bad and continues to explain the earth has to settle before we landscape and the lack of rain makes the process much longer to complete. However, we should be thankful and appreciative that we have an owner, Storch Realty, Inc. who cares enough to turn their profit back into the community each and every time it is needed. Storch Realty, Inc. does their best not to place the burden on the resident and failure to replace the polybutelane water lines would further increase water cost and thus rents. Storch Realty, Inc. would rather spend their money to fix the problem and reduce the cost of water than to put it back on the clients.
Remember, there are different environments for different individuals and our cozy, quaint and older community continues to provide a desired service as evidenced by the recent and ongoing move-ins; the high number of long term satisfied residents; the high renewal rate over the past six months even with the higher increases necessary to meet ever-increasing operating cost; and by the written quotations presented to us when residents move from Howard Hils. We offer all of them from July 2006 through June 2007, for your perusal.

well, I am a resident have been for more than 3 years..and there are some very good points about the life in Howard Hills. Maintenance is AWESOME. Could there be some upgraded changes? Indeed. Refrigerators should be the height of the tenants. Children should rollerskate, board, and race at the public school grounds, the parking lot and spaces are not feasible and cost havoc on vehicle owners. Yes, the lawns are currently disgusting. I had to cancel my annual 4th of July cookout. Most importantly, I feel the value in terms of room sizes are not befitting, and if I could move for more space I really really would. Is Howard Hills safe, most definitely. What it all balls down to is what you deem most important in living? Basford Retreat are very spacious but for $2200 per month, folk living there must have bad credit, if they decided to give away that much funding to a landlord rather than buy a home. For as nice as Basford Retreat is they should not be using any ammenities within Howard Hills. I'm not pleased they are there, simply because they don't respect the speed limit when rolling down Lincoln Street. I think our management, need to look into this issue before someone gets hurt.

and we pay $2300 per month at basford's retreat. we're military and only plan on being in the area three years. we're from southern indiana where a mansion goes for $250,000 on 15 acres. i REFUSE to pay $600-700,000 for a new construction house here on 1/4 acre of land. therefore a rental was our best option. not that it's any of your business. and we don't have bad credit. we have several kids and in this area it is expensive for a 5 bedroom house. i hate the misconception that we get judged just because we live back there. it's not fair. not everyone who lives back there is stuck up. if you're so neighborly, you would be back there visiting and would realize that. and we don't go flying through the roads. if we did we would hit all of your kids that play in the roads because the parents aren't out there watching them like they should be. kids get snatched every day and i would hate to see that happen to one of your children when it could've been prevented. places just aren't safe anymore.

I really don't think it is good for an employee to post a comment on this site. You must understand that these are opinions from current and former residents. Messages like these do not help in a person's decision to move into your complex. These people have a reason as to why they would write the comments.
