River Island, aka, River Penetenary.
This place is horrible. The person who left the comment below obviously works for the management company because no one would right a positive reveiw of this place.

Here are my issues:
1. Buildings may be new on the inside but the entire complex looks like a prison, parking lot needs paving, buildings need painting, washers/dryers never function correctly, non-existant landscaping but mud and trash everywhere.

2. Staff/employees do not speak English. If you do have a problem, which I know you will, and need emergency care, staff cannot understand you or do anything for you.

3. Gotta love the drunk homeless man who fell asleep in front of our apartment for over 6 hours and peed himself. We called "security" but they did nothing...this brings me to another point;

4. R.I. DID hire security guards to monitor the complext, however when you actually need them to be around, they aren't. Like when I am walking my dog at night and see multiple drug deals going down or when 10-year-old kids are breaking glass in the parking lot OR when my car gets broken into.

5. My fifth issue brings me to the actual people who reside in River Island. I am college educated, work full-time, am respectful, clean, and quiet...I cannot say that for the other residence who live there. A good number are on government assistance, which is something I wish I would have known prior to moving in. Police are regularly called for fights/domestic disturbance(3x on the people living directly above us)...Apparently the woman had changed the locks on her husband and when he came home at 3am he decided to throw rocks at her windows, cursing/screaming....this is just one example.

6. R.I. does have a pool but it is never open when it is supposed to be open, what are we paying for exactly'

7. Abandoned cars in the parking lot; our neighbors 1970 truck, missing 3 windows has been parked outside our building for the past 2 months and hasn't moved. There are a number of other unused cars occupying prime parking spaces.

I am not writing this as a joke, everything I listed in real and for the betterment of anyone who takes pride in where they live.
Don't make the mistake I made.

oh my goodness. do you still live there? where did you move to? i'm sure the apartments your living in now are far better.

These are hard economic times and alot of people are finding themselves needing help.I can understand complaining about the crime,but do not make the assumption it is all from goverment assisted people.Not all are bad people.
