This place is horrible! See "no subject" for a sampling of the locals. Whomever wrote that really wasn't kidding. My dishwasher doesn't work. The bathrooms have tiles falling out. I've seen the occassional cochroach, but where there's one there's one-thousand. I had a friend mugged at gunpoint. I've had two attempted break-in's. I'm afraid to walk out to my car at night. I've had rocks come flying through my windows. In fact, rocks are thrown so frequently at my home that I have LARGE indentations in the siding of the house. Oh yeah... did I fail to mention the BARSTOOL that came through my window one night' There's asbestos tiling, which isn't carpeted over (a violation of health department regs which I will report upon my move out date). It takes eons to get anyone to do any maintenance on the home. ie: the grouting in my bathroom is crumbling away. naturally, I asked them to re-grout the bathrooom. They had a guy come by and re-caulk the bathroom, which doesn't change the fact that there are still holes in between the tiles. The caulking is simply crumbling away with the grout. Now, there's water damage. You can tell because their cheap paint job is peeling away. They're so lazy that when they refinished the hardwood floors before I moved in, they didn't bother to sweep. There's dirt and grime petrified into the floors. I've had to call the fire department for gas leaks from a broken stove. If I'd've been in the house, I would have been asfixiated. They were kind enough to replace the stove with a larger stove so I couldn't get to any of my pots and pans and forget about the silverware drawer. It's a good thing that they bought cheap kitchen cabinets that had holes into that cabinet from the adjacent cabinet. Now, most of my pots and pans have to sit on the counter. There's no security. The police are my security and I'm on a first name basis with them. I have their phone numbers and all of their badge numbers on my refridgerator (which doesn't work well I might add!). Mail and documents are frequently "misplaced" by the office. Mail boxes get broken into all the time. I have all my mail sent to a friends house. The list goes on and on... it's a never ending nightmare. The summer is the worst. That's when the neighborhood thugs come out in force and the noise is horrible. Be prepared to communicate with the rental office via certified mail only. It's the only way to get anything done. They're legally obligated to fix a problem after 90 days, or show how they're going to fix it, if you send in a notice via certified mail. To move here, you have to be either stupid or poor. I was stupid. Be prepared to send in your vacation notice 3 months before your lease is completed (via certified mail or they will conveniently lose it).
