I am currently searching through apartments, hoping for a mixture of safety and price. I had stopped by Orchards at Severn and saw a very nice place to live. Unfortunately, the office was packed with people and could not get a tour of the office, so I got the next best thing... a free tour from a resident!

Needless to say, the townhome was a little older, but had a fantastic set-up. Afterwards, I had been warned by the NSA that Orchards at Severn is in the "highest crime area" of Anne Arundel County. So I checked out the crime statistics in the area.

Go to this following link:

http://www.aacounty.org/Police/PoliceCrimeStat place will give you all the crime statistics over the past 90 days at Orchards at Severn.

As you can see, it does have problems, but it is no Baltimore City or Washington D.C. And if you are afraid of a multi-cultural setting, then this place (or rest of south western Maryland) is not for you.

Unfortunately, I will not be moving here because it has been since "banned" for governmental officials to live in due to these problems. But if I could, I would. This is a great place to live if you need to save the money.

What's multi-cultural about it? Convicted sex offenders and other felons is "multi-cultural"?! Dealing drugs to kids and women being raped in parking lots is "multi-cultural" too? I live in a real multi-cultural apartment complex(one that isn't 99% of one race) without all the scum of the earth committing crimes.

My question to joshua81em, these rape attacks and drug dealings that you say occur in the parking lots, how often does this happen, and does this happen in the actual Orchards of Severn complex or does it occur in the complex next door, Somerset Woods complex? I was told by the police that the Orchards Townhomes are fine, however they are located next door or down the street from the worst complex in AA county {Somerset Woods}?
Thanks,
A new concerned Orchards resident

Miya-are you serious-You can look at your complex and see that its a problem...You must be joking right! First of all the key phrase is (Government Officials are not allowed)! That's the key phrase-Somerset Woods Government Officials are allowed. So you go figure. And why is it that there's no income requirement in those townhomes and Somerset not only have an income requirement but if you do for some odd reason have section 8, you still have to work and meet the same criteria for people like me who does work. Are you a joke? Not to mention, if anyone comes on Pioneer Drive its sooo easy to tell where the problem is. Dirty looking little boys and child infested kids. So don't get me started about that hell hole up there!
and by the way Somerset is multi-cultural. I know for a fact. Where I'm located there's chinese, whites and -------SO child please-It seems as if you've lived in your dump for a moment and don't know any better!

which tenant gave you a tour of their home and where they on drugs. People in this neighborhood stay in doors almost always much less to give someone a tour of their house. Tenants aren't stupid,. Unless you force them at gun point, no on in their right mind in this neighbor Hood and i stress HOOD, would give a stranger a tour of their home.
