I lived in Alexander House for over 3 years. My apartment had adequate space and a good location although I wouldn't say that it was a great deal for the price. I'll break it down:

Pros:
-lot of different cultures live here
-the staff tries to do mixers with the residents, they often go largely unattended
-the staff is fairly timely on repairs
-the place is secure
-it is a nice, clean place that will always have the freshest paint, appliances and rugs.
-it is VERY convenient to the Metro system, 495 and other major roads.

Cons:
-NOISE. For three years I complained about my next door neighbor that would listen to music until 3am and they never once did anything about it. This is why I moved out. It was an absolute nightmare.
-I am in my 20s but I was turned off by the increase in collge kids moving into the apartment complex. I would like to think that this apt building is for people starting out on their first job or those starting to have kids...not for people having college parties on Thursday-Sunday nights.
-The staff can be very ignorant and unpleasant...one time we didn't have air conditioning or another when we didn't have WATER and they didn't care! It wasn't until a week or two later that it came back on!
