After several days of apartment hunting my fiancee and i stumbled onto the alexander house apts., and the staff was very freindly. Everything seemed great until we moved in, first of all when we toured the apartment they were installing new appliances and sll the dirt from the construction would be cleaned up b4 we moved in which was great. But when we went to move in they failed to clean up behind themselves after construction, and left dirt all over the carpet and in the kitchen. We didnt get to upset because they would send someone up as soon as possible, which by their terms really meant three or four days.
Problems persisted over the term in which I stayed there. The tub was always clogged, the thermostat in the apartment never moved so the A/C and heat had to be turned off manually, the gate to the garage stayed open for weeks at a time, the garage entry to the elevators also remained open leaving the whole garage area unsafe and considering the amount you pay to park in the lot one would expect the things you pay for to actually work.
During the winter its freezing in the apartment, and if you can bear the cold there is always some neighbor blasting music and being totally inconsiderate of anyone else in the building.
In addition, to the maintenance problems the management was just as horrible. they seemed so nice when we signed thelease, but shortly after that they showed their true colors. Because I forgot to put my decal on my car, they called and very rudley told me "you need to move your car or it will be towed, or learn to put your decal in the window." These people suck, not only that after staying there for six months and paying my rent on time, my fiancee wrote out a check for the wrong amount for one months rent and they wrote us a letter saying they were going to add late fees to our next months rent if we did not pay by the end of that same day. Curious to know how much the difference was between the rent and the check she wrote' 27 dollars. This place is ridiculous, maybe the new management is related to the Capones or something.
I dont know but im getting the hell out of here quick, for the price im paying for a one bedroom apartment, i could be staying somewhere really nice with a lot less hassles.
