Too much for too little

Alexander House is a beautiful building in a prime location. My apartment was gorgeous, with a beautiful northern view from the balcony. However, much of the space in the apartment was taken up by overlarge bathrooms and a strange floorplan. The security guards were very nice, as were the leasing agents, but maintenance was slow to respond and didn't always finish the job. For example, they removed our screens for a manditory window cleaning, with promises to replace them the next week, and never returned. Parking was too expensive, although there is a public lot across the street, if you don't mind paying up to $6 every time you want to take your car out. The rent was outrageous and did not include as many amenities as other places in this area. There was also a problem with these strange little bugs and with house centipedes, but no other insects. I found it to be quiet enough, but that may have been because I had good neighbors. I didn't feel that there was much of a community in the building, but maybe I would have had a different feeling if I had children. All in all, Alexander House is not a bad place to live, it just isn't excellent either, and certainly not enough to justify the prices.
