My husband and I have lived in Aspen Crossings for about a year now. We just renewed our lease and a pretty happy with the way we have been treated. I just read some of the other reviews and agree with some of what the other people have had to say. I would like to say however, that we have not had any issues with pests, we are pretty clean and have a cat and have not noticed any of the problems that apparently other residents have had. You can hear your neighbors upstairs- every single step they take, but it is an older building and you just ignore it after a while. Secondly, if you go into any apartment complex you are going to smell weed. My brother lives in a nice gated community, you can smell weed all the time. On that note, i have personally not seen anyone deal or the like but I am not naive enough to believe that that isn't happening around here. Lastly, the old management did suck, a lot. When we first moved in our dishwasher flooded the kitchen and we spent our first night cleaning/airing out the kitchen (the hose was taped to keep it from leaking). Then, our fridge kept freezing up and we had to de-frost it every 2-3 months with no help from the management office. When we went to resign our lease we were able to negotiate our new rate as well as get a new fridge, that works and is actually more spacious on the interior than the previous one. I can tell that the new management is making an effort to help the residents (including sending out news letters regarding help for possible flood damage, etc). I will also have to say that i do not think i would live here if it was just me. I do not walk around alone at night and my husband knows where I am going when I leave. For the area and the price it works. We lived just outside of Oakland, CA where nightly raids were the norm. Maybe i am just jaded from my previous housing situation, but i will be here another year.
