Great Design, poor staff....

I lived at Aston Woods for 3 yrs and would have to agree with the others who have posted opinions.... It was the office staff, the great design of the apartments, and the amenities that drew me and made me happy initially. But after a couple of years of living there and being wonderfully happy, a mass switch of management through the whole complex into a loop. The last year i was there every time i went into the office to pay rent or pickup a package i was greeted by a new face and a not so happy demeanor. I also agree that they should hire more repair staff. The guys who were there were friendly, and good at what they did - but it just seemed as if they were overwhelmed by the amount of work on their plates. After renewing my lease in June of 2002 my central air conditioner failed, so they happily produced a window unit that cooled my bedroom but not much of the rest of my apartment. I checked in on a bi weekly basis to see when my unit would have its airconditioner fixed. I got a few "the parts will be here next week" and a "we have a ticket assigned to you to have it fixed", but not much else was done. Only when the central heater failed and it got down to 50 degrees inside the apartment in March of the following year did everything get fixed(including the air conditioner). On the positive side, I always felt safe in the apartment complex, and my neighbors were always friendly, personable. The complex was also well taken care of, never once did i have a bug problem. And people kept their pets well under control and cleaned up after. A few of the tenants had children, but most seemed to be either the young professional or older single type. In the first couple of years I was there the pool was managed very well and was extremely well maintained. Super clean. However this fell off after the management went through its period of change. I also felt that the increase in rent was a bit exorbidant. I went from a rent of $825 to $960/month in a matter of three years. Thats in the neighborhood of 6 - 8% every year - too too much in my opinion.
