Where do I begin'!
From: -Anonymous-Date posted: 1/5/2006
Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2006
Positive things:
-the apartment is very spacious and clean
-rent is relatively inexpensive for the area and for the huge apartment.
-no roach/mice problems
-not all management is horrible (Pamela is very nice and cheery and it is very appreciated)
Negative things:
-the management is the worst i've ever encountered. they are very incompetent and prove this time and time again
-within two weeks of moving into the complex my "new" washer broke and they were very unwilling to provide me with a replacement. They attempted to look at it 4 times, each time saying that there was a different problem that they would solve or look at more thourougly within the next few days. Finally, 3 weeks later, I did get a replacement. This, however, was after various calls to management to remind them that I was still waiting.
-Because I received the move-in special of no rent in December, I did not pay it. This resulted in an eviction notice (1 month into moving in). Upon alerting the management I was told that someone must have forgotten to put the special into the computer so I was sent an eviction notice upon default. Management told me they would take care of it and the court case to get me evicted would be dismissed. This is complete incompetence, however I was willing to let it go because I do know that mistakes do happen (although this is a pretty major one). The next week I had a sheriff personally delivered an eviction notice. This was a surprise to me because I thought it had been taken care of. Management (and by that, I mean Donna) made me feel as if I were an inconvenience by asking for documentation that my case was dismissed. As of now, I'm still waiting for that documentation.
-the parking lots are not well lit at all, and I don't feel safe arriving at my apartment after dark
-the lights are programmed to turn on at certain times on the stairs, but they are normally off until 5 or 6:00 at night, when it is usually dark much before they are turned on (again, not making me feel very safe)
-my showerhead was not dispensing water and it took them 2 days to fix it (couldn't shower at my apartment)
-overall, management is not considerate. If they were given the same treatment as they give to us tenants here, I don't think they would appreciate it either. I'm at the point at which I feel that I want to get out of my lease because i'm so frustated.
I love the apartment and the layout, but I just don't know if it's worth the hassle of dealing with the management. If you move here, you better hope that you don't have anything fixed.
