READ MY LIPS...DO NOT RENT HERE. At least five (5) management changes in 3 years. I initially lived on the bottom floor in an obscure corner of the bldg. My apt was vandalized along with 4 other bottom floor apts. That left my wife and I very apprehensive so we decided to stay within the community but requested a top floor apt. I was told by Donna Richardson that I would have to pay a "transfer fee." Immediately I read my lease and no where does it state a "transfer fee," so I asked Donna where did she arrive that I would have to pay a transfer fee' Her reply was, "it's just something we do." I said, "what do you mean it's just something you do'" I advised her this "transfer fee" is not in writing so how can you enforce it.
I then contacted Gary Johnstone, her boss, which generated a call to me from Donna Richardson. Her words were, "we're going to waive the transfer fee." I repeated to her, "what is there to waive....the so-called transfer fee doesn't exist!" It's not in writing so what is there to waive' Bottom line, when my current lease expires, I have no intention of renewing. Vacancies are increasing as we speak and they attempt to make up for it by creating fees for satellite dishes and the proposal of a water bill. It's nothing to receive a late notice on your door due to their administrative ineptness of misapplying your payment to someone else's account. This has happened to numerous tenants. My advice, keep all your receipts as most likely than not, they posted your payment on someone else's account.
