Bennington at Silver Spring

Nice, but pricey and not without a few problems

I've been at the Bennington for over two months now. The only major problem are the nearby trains. Note that there is not just a metro line, but also the Marc line, and a freight line that run right next to the building. The freight trains which come intermittently throughout the night and morning sound like airplanes flying close above, and take some getting used to.
The apts. are brand new and very nice, although our particular floor plan was obviously designed by an architect lacking common sense. In spite of the small sq. footage, there are large areas that are too awkwardly positioned to place anything in, and take up space that could be used much more wisely.
Aside from that, the only other qualms I have are that the dishwasher is terrible and there isn't enough cabinet space in the bathroom.
Another issue, is that the beautiful resident lounge in the lobby is not open at times when most residents can use it. But many residents have griped about that and management would likely change their policy if an organized group of tenants made a real issue of it.
If knowing all this, you still find the place livable and the price affordable, then this may be a great place for you.
