I have lived in the Bennington at Silver Spring since September of 2006. I love my apartment and often feel as though I am living in a high class hotel. I have granite countertops in the kitchen, beautiful new appliances, and a washer/dryer in the unit. The lobby, fitness center, business center, and residents lounge are clean and bright and really do feel like a hotel. Building entry is keycard access with a 24hr concierge desk and a controlled access parking garage so I have always felt safe here. The management staff has been nothing but professional and courteous with me and I have never had to wait long for maintenance. Every few months and on major holidays, the management throws parties in the residence lounge. I just attended the island summer themed party which was catered with awesome caribbean food (free food!), a steel drum band (free entertainment!), and rum punch and pina coladas (free drinks!). The convenience of living so close to the metro and across the street from a grocery store, coffee shop, and restaurants are worth the extra rent cost because I rarely need my car. I also love sitting on my balcony and looking out over the city! On July 4th I could see fireworks going off all across the city... the view was amazing!

The downside:
Expensive (I pay $1715/month for a 680 sq foot 1 bedroom 1 parking space 1 pet with NO utilities included)
Construction Noise (there is a new high rise apartment building being built across the street... in the daytime the jackhammers are increibly loud)
Visitor parking (If you have a visitor, they must pay for parking in the public garage nextdoor)

All in all I am very happy with my decision to live in the Bennington and plan to make it my home for as long as I am in the DC area.
