I have read all the reviews good and bad about the Bennington and yet I decided to move here. I just figured people are always never going to be happy anywhere. Well let me tell you I made a HUGE MISTAKE. I moved here because I fell for the convience of the metro and close proximity to the downtown silver spring resturants, shops and concert events which often take place during the summer.

This entire experience has been a huge dissapointment. My apartment's air conditioning is so horrible that I might as well not have air. It never gets cold. If I prepare a meal, the thermostat never falls below 90degrees. I've had maintence come and "repair" it several times and to no end it just sucks. My unit faces east west hwy so I have a huge bay window which makes my house more like a green house than an open airy apartment. The sun is non-relenting from 12 noon till 5:45pm or so...

The hallways are constantly reaking with strange smells from people either burning food, smoking cigaretts or are cury filled not to mention that the air in the hallways is more like a humidifier than actual AC. I was so unhappy that I felt it necessary to break my lease and move back to rockvile. I know there are a lot of cynical people on here who will pick apart every word and share with you a different opinion in defense of the bennington. Please PLEASE please shop around before you sign up to do a year of hard time here...

My review must include a special thanks to the leasing staff who tried their best to allay my concerns. Their courteousness and sympathy with my issues couldn't substitute for the horrible maintenance, lack of AC and construction noise. I see potential residence constantly going on tours and I wish they would read some of the reviews here before making a huge mistake. The rent is much too expensive for what we get in return.

Finally, I can't conclude this review without mentioning the construction noise again across the street. It is TERRIBLE and you will not believe how early they begin (6:15am) and end (5pm or so). The jack hammering and stone breaking is not a sound you will get used to. The traffic noise on east west hwy is so loud I can't even open my window for a cool breeze.... I'm constantly running AC.

@needahug: You might want to learn correct grammar before calling the intelligent, and honest reviewer above an idiot. The review has everything to do with Bennington. What a moron. How can the human race have evolved to such idiocy?
