I love the curving hallways, friendly staff, beautiful lobby, huge doors into apartments, huge closets and spacious apartments. I really love the apartment itself. But with all the good there are some not so good features...for instance it's always coollldddd in my bedroom, and in my roommates bedroom. The windows are very drafty, thank goodness utilities are included. However even running the heaters full blast at 90 degrees doesnt warm the rooms adequately. When maintenace was called about this, they responded quickly and several times to our several requests...they taped up the windows with a foam tape to stop the draft. It did help some. Major negative is there is NO HEAT in the bathrooms at all. They were just built during a time when people didn't find it necessary to heat them...was the response I got. I haven't seen any bugs in my apartment though which is a MAJOR MAJOR positive. I have seen some mice run around outside the building, but as long as they aren't inside, I'm happy. Sometimes parking is a pain because they spots are numbered in such a way that you can't see them when you pull in, so people accidentally take your spot (which is paid for monthly)...I've had to be reimbursed because my spot was taken for about 5-6 days in a row...I had to park somewhere else that was an inconvenience. But they reimbursed me which was nice. All in all, I love the place...the updated kitchens that come with side-by-side refrigerators and new appliances are super nice. And most of them are updated, if they're not, you get a discount on rent. Everyone is friendly who lives in the building. The only safety issue I can tink of, is that the building was built before water sprinklers were required and it's exempt from this requirement...but the alarms supposedly work (I have yet to hear them) and the back parking lot (which connects with Giant) can be a bit scarey at nite. Overall I give it an A- :)

I live at the Blair East as well, I find it hard that you find the commen areas beutiful. They where beautiful 50 yrs. ago. I find it dingy and unkept, especially G1 and G2. Its a shame of the way they keep the building.
