The apartments in 8107 Eastern Avenue Blair Towers are teeming with mice. I have never seen any thing like this. And I ahve lived in some very old buildings in very urban settings They are falling from the heating and cooling system units. They are gnawing through cable lines. They are going through holes connecting ovens to walls. They are digging into apartments through corners. They squeak , they run around your apartment anytime of day or night. We have been complaining about these mice since February and apparently , the mice are only becoming more entrenched in the building. Last night, I heard them nibbling at the inside of the wall underneath my bed. Do not move here. The management sends these nasty directives in memo form. The buildings are old and poorly renovated. Most of the Security people have a nasty attitude and roll around like they have some official police authority over folks with these extreme bright yellow lights flashing. They actually tow residents' cars when they park in an awkward but not illegal or blocking place even though they have extremely limited space for parking space. Don't go out late at night, you won't have anywhere to park if you return after 10 PM. You can hear everything. The elevators breaks all of the time. They do not miss a chance to increase your rent or get you locked into a 2 year lease for one or two hundred dollars less. The bathrooms are small. I am stuck here right now because I have a dog but do not move here if you do not have to or if you like living random insect and Mice free. By the way, I have caught close to fifteen mice in my apartment in the last two months with sticky traps- I did not even put food as bait on them. Sometimes the traps have two mice on them.

Clearly a post from a competitor of Blair's. Ridiculous. We're at 8103 for the past four months and haven't even seen a bug, let alone a mouse. Messages from management are not nasty, the staff are more than polite, I've never not found a parking spot (yes, it does get full, but you can always park at Giant), the elevator has never broken and yes, you can hear some things from neighbors. Welcome to apartment living.

I am experiencing the same problem with mice where I live, and I used the sticky traps to that management gave me and I used food as bait in the traps to, I put a piece of cake,cheese,beef pattie in the traps, and I caught up to 7 so far within a week .....disgusting..

She DOES live at the Blairs. We too feel the memos are nasty and have gone hours without electricity. We found out after we moved here that the Towers are on the Rock Creek park grid so each wind can knock out the power and although Blairs can change their grid, they do not do so. There is no compensation for the food I lose everytime the power goes out, even after asking. We had our car towed by the pretend police of Blairs, even though we had thier sticker and was parked legally. Our car was hit and run in thier lot and surprise surprise, they had no tape in the lot cameras! Once our lease is up, we too are gone from this oversprice uncared for location. They have sunk tons of $ in the landscaping recently but nothing into the care and maintainance of the apartments themselves. We went without air conditioning last summer because maintianance could not figure out the problem. Turns out, the motor in the unit was old and burned out, but this was discovered after five months of complaints.
