RUN FAR, RUN FAST, RUN FROM FAIRLAND.

I've had the pleasure of living here at the Welfare Reform Apartments for 7 years and can't wait to be released. I feel like an inmate being paroled. Like so many of the tenants that live here now.

When I moved in, it was a lovely military / family environment. It has gone downhill with every passing day. We receive notices weekly regarding the new recreational activities; robbery, rape, assault, car theft. The bandits are of the highest caliber because they not only steal your childrens bikes, they climb onto you balcony's and steal your children's bikes. Now that is determination !!

They called themselves helping us by assigning parking spaces for the Montgomery County police. FOR WHAT'' We don't have enough parking spaces as is and with the police being called every Friday and Saturday night, reserved parking is not a necessity. But anything to increase the rent, right''

Now since we are speaking of parking, on Fairland's website "ample parking" is a selling point. Once you move in, street parking is as ample as it gets! You will commute to and from the parking to your dimly lit apartment foyer. Fairland was considerate enough to install motion detected lights. They only work when there is no movement. As soon as you get out of your car, the lights go out. Gives the serial rapest a heads up when you get home!

The unit is spacious. Especially since none of the closet doors stay on the hinges. These are special order hinges, directly from .... Norway. Because there is no way you are going to get these. I am still on order ... July 2002 ! I got so fustrated, that I made the bedroom larger, took the doors completely off. It gives me a more modern stylish apartment, I think.

The washer and dryer has been good to me. I am on my 3rd hand me down set. Everytime they break, they go downstairs to storage and give me someone else's broken washer. It workes better in a new apartment. Washers are tempermental.

Upgrades ! They do upgrade the grounds. They have people that speak no english that keep the grounds clean. Great - now they need to have the trash collection a little more often. The grounds keepers no longer have anywhere to put the trash they collect. They just carry it around and leave it parked in the Montgomery County police officer's parking spaces. How nice ! They painted the apartment doors, puke green. They didn't pay the painters to open the doors and paint, so it was a puke green with aqua border. Totally retro ! Then Home Depot had a sale on cheap, shinny black paint. Fairland bought it all! And since they saved so much on the paint, they opened the doors this time so its all nice, shinny and black. Too bad we never saw the painters, who so kindly left all the apartment doors opened without any security.

The joy of Fairland. Move in - experience the unknown.

O - let me remind you if you move in and aren't on a voucher. You rent is GUARANTEED to be higher than anybody else's. I know. I pay more than everyone on my floor!
