I first thought flood was a sole accident that particularly happened to us at a bad luck.

We began our first rent for about two weeks, then one night the toilet in the secondary bathroom started making weird noise and splashing sound. Later that night, around 3 AM, water FROM THE TOILET pour out like a water fountain with all the yellowish stuffs. I try so hard to not to believe these craps come from other apartments above mine as well! Even worse, it did not stop in the bathroom area. The water go into carpet, to the master bedroom, closet, second bedroom and nearly reach the front doors, that means it is everywhere in the living room. I had to stay up the whole entire night, moving our computers, electric devices, clothing, almost everything away from where the nasty water span. This would not have happened if the maintenance team was there to answer my call at 10 PM earlier. Their emergency team consists of just one single auto answering machine. We had to dial 911 and firefighters came to shutdown the water system from the outside building. We didn't have any water to use for next whole 5 days. Firefighters could do nothing much more because the flood was so bad, they told us the office people probably have to lift up the entire apartment to fix it. It was 12304, Apt # 11. Our whole family has to use bathroom of a local relative who live near the area. None of us could go to work. Think the office would do some kind of refund or at least give us a half free month rent, no! They deny any responsibility about the flood and charge us the full amount. We are so stupid to decide to move up to 3 bedroom apartment, or just because we just moved in and too tired to move out to somewhere else far away. Even if we do so, that means early termination and the cost to rent movers definitely reach $1000 or more. Fairland Garden does not care about its residence, only the $ and how much, in which way, they can rip from us.

As we moved to the new 3 bedroom type, believe it or not there were even more problems. First, the light bulb at one of the front door fell off and almost hit a person in our family! Second, toilet keeps leaking the water from its container, means whole day there is always water dripping down, the end of the month we paid $100 water bill. After these incidents things were settled down for awhile until we just randomly get a charge of $60 of water bill from the old apartment 12304 #11! Why' Because we have to pay for the nasty water that came out from the freaking broken toilet that nonstop flooding our rooms! Their service is just unbelievable :(

For the next one year, we always wish the contract ended so we could move out as fast as possible. Everyday then, I had to live in my room with water leaks from one of the wall in a closet! It made a smell of mold and odor that mixed from dry wall, paint, carpet and disgusting water. They sent people to fix it everytime it happened but could never stopped it. Everytime I had to move all the stuffs in my room out for them to clean up. I believe it is almost 5-7 times in 9 months. Then one time it became so bad that there is water dripping down from the ceiling, break the kitchen light cover because it had to hold too much water inside. We could not know where to wait for this indoor rain because it is everywhere. We could only grab our trashbag to cover any electric devices else they would be totally broken by now. As expected, the emergency team did not help, we were prepared from early experience and started to call 911 as soon as we see this disaster coming. Firefighters ran up and down, finally figured out it's because the apartment above us having a flood too! And we receive all the after water that go through their flood and down to our ceiling! They also learnt that this water actually come from the washer and one of the pipe were loosen by a broken connector (Should I thank God it was not toilet water!). It took one whole week for clean up and repair, still carpet and walls were in extremely worse condition. Sometimes I thought it was a living hell or a zoo, not an apartment that we deserve or at least thought of how it should be. Since we believe our contract nearly ended we had to live with it a bit longer. For the next one month, our TV and Internet Cable was cut. Reason: no one knows why. ISP could find out the problem until I suggested the maintenance people to check other apartments. They found out the cable that goes to our apartment was unplugged by accident from the apartment above us, when they did the flood cleaning up there. I had to come to library to turn in my works and it was extremely inconvenient , time-consuming. Later on, office alerts us that our contract would end in next month , either we have to sign up for the next term or leave. If we leave, we violate their policy of 60 days notice and have to stay for another 30 days, which we have to pay month-by-month rent for that 30 days, roughly $1800 ! Ridiculous! Now we want to move out and they still find some tricks to force us losing our cash. Without a choice, we had to do so because even if we end the contract one month early, we still have to pay the termination fee which is 1 month rent and eventhough we are NOT allowed to stay in the apartment for that one month! When it was finally time to move out, we wanted to make sure our unit was clean, no broken items that belong to the apartment. We had one of the manager came down to check and he said it was fine, pretty good. We were happy we could move away and hopefully take back our $500 deposit. But no, that $500 is gone! They say they have to clean our carpet because it was dirty (thanks to the flood) , the fridge was dirty (thanks to the indoor rain), the wall in my old bedroom was dirty with mold and smelly (thanks to monthly leaks), broken walls (thanks to the maint team when they repaired our unit), etc... all those charges out-take the $500 deposit and now we owe them $68 more! We have to pay $68 more because of the problems that we suffer from the old 30 years old ------- apartment broke into our unit.

This is a long review but I hope I give you an overall view of how Fairland Garden customer service is and how their apartments are like. Sometimes we want to file a lawsuit against them so badly but we have to live up with our busy life and we have no time to do so. Wish someone could do so to teach them a lesson about responsibility and obligation to the residence.

*We took pictures and record some of the incidents and one day I'll upload them here as the freakin living proofs.
