Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2004
Before living here, my husband and I lived at another home properties community. Which was a lot cheaper and the apartments were much larger. We had a 2 bedroom with washer and dryed for 805 a month. Here we pay 1060 for a much smaller space and no washer or dryer and out dated dishwasher and stove. My husband and I have only been here since December, we had to move here because my husbands job moved. Unfortunately we dont have good credit and the only ones that would take us was Home Properties. At first my opinion was wow this is beautiful and I thought everyone was so friendly. I must admit that the resident here are wonderful , very socialble. I do enjoy the hardwood floors but they do need to put some work into them. The windows are a problem, although beautiful they are not good, water is always leaking through, damaging the walls. I told management this when i first moved in, guess what' Its February, thats 2 months, they had a manitanance guy come in and wipe them down with a paper towel, what is that going to do'' Not a dang thing. Due to the windows leaking we have spiders! What a pain. The heating systme makes so much noise! It runs almost all the time and the temperature never stays the same. The dishwasher is fine with plates for the most part, but forget about cups, soap gets stuck and dries to them, need a new one! This apartment is quaint though, I do like that. Parking lot is hard to get into, and then when you do good luck finding a spot past 5 30 pm. Laundry rooms are inconvenient unless you live right next to them, recharging your card on the non rental office side of the street is annoying because you either have to go to the rental office or go to the other laundry room. If they would do some fixing of these places it wouldnt be so bad, over all yes it is nice, but these things have to be fixed, I also have big cracks around the walls on the floor for bugs to come in and out of as they please. There is only one phone jack and its from like 1940. This place needs some work. I love the people here though. THe rental office, one of the men that works there is so unproffesional, I just couldnt believe it. Oh and I am still wiating for them to fix these things with my apartment.
Over all its a beatufil place and the people are great. But all of the things listed above need to be fixed before I can say yes.
