I've been living at Falkland Chase for more than six months now and I absolutely adore it. The apartments are older with wooden floors and mediocre appliances and cabinetry, but the location, grounds, price, pet-friendliness and staff more than compensate.

The apartments are perfectly situated within walking distance of the Silver Spring metro, Giant Supermarket and downtown Silver Spring. The apartment's grounds are nicely maintained during the summer and are quite expansive. None of the buildings are high-rises so you never really feel like you live in a massive building and you can get to know your building-mates fairly well. For pet owners, especially, the presence of so much green grass and tress is a necessity.

The prices are quite reasonable, especially given the proximity to metro. I've heard that prices increase consistently each year, but still think it's a pretty good deal. The maintenance staff is great. You can submit maintenance requests online and usually have it taken care of within the next 24 hours. One night we submitted a request around 7 PM and received a phone call at 8 PM from the maintenance guy saying he could stop by right then and attend to the problem.

The office staff is great too. We were out of town getting married and realized we'd left an important slide show in the apartment. We called the Falkland Chase staff and Larry was kind enough to use a master key to retrieve the slide and FedEx it to us just in time for the ceremony.

Most of the other people are quite friendly and the entire atmosphere is very safe. I couldn't be happier.
