Not renewing our lease....

Its a shame because the community itself is really nice. Well lit, easy to get around, close to everything we need. However... we are in a constant battle with the leasing office about rent. Have you ever tried to get a hold of someone in the leasing office to ask a question about a supposed "past due balance"' "i'm sorry, the person in charge of that isn't here right now, can i have her call you'" right. I say SUPPOSED because we have on more than one occassion been charged a late fee or served a court summons without actually paying rent late. And its like they KNOW they do this to people, because as soon as you actually talk to them and confront them about it, they take care of it right away. So it seems like they're just serving these late fees hoping people will pay and not go through the hassle of fighting it. UGH.
The community is old and its understandable that there will be problems associated with that, however FC does nothing to help its image in this regard. Clearly when they go in and repaint after a tenant moves out, they just take a bucket of paint and kind of aim it at the walls. There is paint on everything -- the floor, the stove, the doorknobs. And i have to agree with the previous post about the showerheads. You have to be like 3 feet tall to take an adequate shower in our townhouse. I know these things seem petty, but when you're paying as much as we are, you expect a certain degree of professionalism and respect from management. We will NOT be renewing our lease. two years is quite enough at Falkland Chase.
Oh and a word of advice to incoming tenants: pay your rent online and print out the receipt.

If you pay online, it cots even more, we were informend of that when we moved in. Much easier to drop it off in the office. The reviewer does not specify when they were paying their rent. You have a certian no. of days, and if you wait till after the cut off date, then of course you will get a notice. I work in insurance and people are always waiting to pay at the last minute, then they get mad when it is not recieved on time.
