My husband and I have lived in Falkland Chase for 1.5 years and have really enjoyed our time here. To break it down:
1. The apartment itself is a little small (esp the kitchen and bathroom), but it's not unbearable. The walls are pretty thick, we rarely hear our neighbors. And I can count on one hand the times I've seen bugs in our apt since we moved in.
2. Staff: We've always had great experiences with staff. Maintenance is also great - they are always out within 24 hours of our call. We've had a few problems (which can be expected with an old building like this), but I've never felt like they just did the "quick fix" - and so the problems we've had, once repaired, have not returned.
3. Parking: We live on the West side. Parking is rarely if ever a problem. Only time I've had to park elsewhere has been very late at night on weeknights.
4. The other residents are great, all the neighbors are very nice and friendly. And the fact that the community is dog-friendly is a big plus - there are 3 dog parks that are always clean and have extra poop bags so we can clean up after our pups.
5. Other facilities - the laundry area is well-kept (but can get busy), the fitness center is usable but nothing exciting. It's got some ellipticals, treadmills, bikes, and a small weight section.

The negatives' I'd have to say the size, lack of W/D in the apartments. Plus, the price is a bit high...but you really can't beat the area. Between being able to walk to downtown Silver Spring (and the metro), and a five minute drive to Bethesda, it's a great location. Overall, I'd definitely recommend it.
