Looked for a while and looked at a lot of reviews. I'm very happy with my place here. Largest square footage for the money in downtown silver spring, pretty responsive management and maintenance.
Nice building that is older but very well kept up. Not much noise on my level. I'm having a very pleasant experience for my first time renting. if they ever converted to condos, I'd strongly consider staying.
Staff is friendly for the most part and tenants, while a bit standoffish, mind their business and are friendly if they have a mind to be.
The real stunner is the location. 2 blocks from silver spring metro, within five minutes of two beltway exits, multiple grocery stores and cleaners within walking distance. All the amenities and entertainment of downtown silver spring are like a ten minute walk away.
If you need to get into the city, Georgia Ave. and 16th St. are literally a block away. Rock Creek park is walking distance too. That's been the real seller for me.
Only negatives are that my drain backed up twice in eight months and the parking lot renovation has taken longer than expected. Other than that the only bad thing is if you tend to have a lot of company, parking on the street is limited as it's mostly meters and a paid parking garage down the block. There is a parking lot next to the building, but it's a tow company's heaven and I hear they cruise by frequently as it's intended for the office building next door.
But you get to be close to downtown silver spring but on the much less noisy side.
I'd recommend.
